Woolworths backflips - QF points are coming back

Has WW introduced the $10WD = 870 QFF system yet?

I don't seem to be getting any QFF Points offer unlike some people are :\

Already returned to Coles this week (2 shops so far) and won't be coming back until they start offering QF points on a regular basis again.

I have had no QF points offers either since the WOW transformation so I too am sticking to Coles till WOW send me a realistic QF points offer.

Received an email today saying that the Woolworths Rewards programme is changing again from 31 August 2016. Every dollar spent at Woolworths supermarkets, Woolworths online, BWS and Caltex Woolworths petrol stations earns 1 point.

Also saw another webpage that says that once a certain number of Woolworths points have been accrued, Qantas Frequent Flyer members can opt to convert them to Qantas points.

Also saw another webpage that says that once a certain number of Woolworths points have been accrued, Qantas Frequent Flyer members can opt to convert them to Qantas points.

It's 1 point per $1. But to get $10 or 870 points you have to have 2000 points (obviously $2000)
So a trip to Melbourne at 8000 qantas points will only cost you $20,000....

I much preferred points for over $30. At least then I was getting something.

Given that Woolworths has significantly lowered many of its prices in recent months, to me that is a 'bonus' in itself.

It can't be beaten for range in the suburbs (although in country centres such as Mildura, IGA can be very good with different products in some categories.)

The 31 August change to the rewards program is a welcome admission that the orange stickers were not perceived well by shoppers. Good to see QFF points returning.

My email says that WDR$10 can be exchanged for 870 points.

Refer above, I see nothing about 2000 points. 870 points for $10WDR - Spend to get those WDR$10 can be as low as $50/$30 or whatever depending on WDR$ promos.

There is not obvious removal of orange stickers if earning WDR$ is still a thing.

The Fin Review has a story on the change with some good quotes basically about how the current system hasn't gone down well, the new system will probably be liked better but the original system was actually a lot better:

Geez, I've managed to gain just over $1 in woolies dollars since the change. Its going to take me 10 years at this rate to get my 10$ discount/or 870 QFF points.

Honestly, I've got other distractions in life that are inevitably going to prevent me trying to game this one. I'm sure there is potential in it with the bonus offers (that I never get) and generally spending hours each week pulling the levers and pushing the buttons, but, I've long learned that such complex systems or ones that require minute detail and control from me are not worth bothering with ... they are actually gaming -me-

Its best-shop-of-the-day for me, and has been since the changes came in. Aldi is open over here in the west now too - got to find my local one and have a look.

the only email I received is from QFF it says:

From next week, every dollar you spend in store could get you closer to the frequent flyer rewards you love. You'll receive 870 Qantas points for every 10 woolworths dollars in your woolworths rewards account. Just opt-in from 31 August to start converting woolworths dollars to qantas points.

there is pre and post amble about where to earn, bonus offers and keep an eye on my inbox. That is the only info about earning. There are no links to videos. The fine print excludes tassie, provides unsubscribe options and I need to be a QFF member to earn points.

The bolding matches their email text. I've underlined my points of interest. Clearly I misinterpreted the first sentence - however, "could" is not will. No mention of exchange rate, or changes to earning WW$. The only thing is a new opt-in way to earn QFF points at a poor exchange rate.

On my nominal spending pattern $2000 would have got me 1760 points under the old system - so earning has basically halved. I'm more than happy to stick with the cash discount, even if 8 weeks to earn $10 is pretty slow. Having said that, I could dig out the kids EDR cards again.

Which is fine. But I would've expected a whole of program change to be communicated to all members. No WOW email here.

This will work better for me than the old Everyday Rewards system, which used to only earn points on spends >$30. I have a Woolies across the road, so tend to go in daily and pick up what I need for the day, so often didn't hit the $30 threshold for points.

At least this time I guess people can redeem their points for cash (not a bad thing). I saying just the other day as my SO had 2,500 in QF points, that there must be so many QF accounts sitting there with the same, it's not a bad thing for QF, Woolies were the ones who back out of this one last time. Now Woolies can kill two birds with one stone. Some value cash, some value QF points, win win now.
