Woolworths gift card thread

Woolies results are down for December half-well I've certainly been spending less since October

Starting Wednesday (27/2/2019):

Buy a $50 Cotton On, Ulitimate kids gift card or Ultimate teens gift card and get 1000 bonus points.
Buy a $100 Hoyts, Ticketmaster or Accor Hotels gift card and get 2000 bonus points.

Starts Wednesday March 6, 15% off itunes gift cards.
Thanks, I've got an overdue tax bill that requires payment! This discount is perfect :)
For an extra bonus, there's no surcharge on iTunes Gift Card payments. So Platinum Edge 3 ppd (+1 ppd for Local Champion), will lead to a nice little bonus before the devaluation.

From Wednesday March 13:

Spend $50 on an Uber or Netflix gift card and get 1000 bonus Woolworths rewards points.

In peoples experience are gift cards like these easily on-sold on gumtree and the like? Any discount required to be offered?

Why would anyone buy a GC via Gumtree unless it was at a discount?

Especially when all the bargain hunters can just buy GCs themselves direct at a discount.

Because not everyone out there is aware of how to get them at a discount. Don’t assume everyone in the real world is as savvy as on this forum.

I’m guessing your answer is no then.
Thanks

just for kicks thought id try and buy a GC with egfit at self serve, maybe things had changed , but no good,

however, the last time I tried, buying a jetstar GC at manned checkout with egfit worked,, but only1s did not

Maybe Gumtree has changed then. My impression of Gumtree was that people only bought from there to buy things at a discount or cheap, or where perhaps an item is not available or sometimes for convenience.

Good luck finding people willing to pay full price for a Gift Card on Gumtree. While yes there are many rogues trying to sell things for inflated prices online it is pretty difficult to pass a $100 GC off as anything but a $100GC.

Where there has been a market was for where people could buy them for discounts greater than the normal punter could get where will to sell them for the a discount greater than than that punter could get. (Ie Buy at 7 % off rather than 5% off).

In the real world that I know of people do not buy GCs via Gumtree or eBay for the full rate.
And with Gumtree in particular which is full of scammers, why would one take such a risk?

ive got a better chance in competing in next years miss universe contest than anyone selling a gift card at face value on gumtree

offer a moderate discount and I still think your odds are 50/50

one big local WW store had an entire stand dedicated to only1 $100 cards, and each Pin was oveflowing and about to fall off

my have times changed!

Yep noticed last night huge supply of stock of VISA1 $100 CARDS in my local.........

Think they will have an Easter sale to clear stock ie. No fee (no inside knowledge, just putting it out there for Google algorithm and marketing department)

My 3 local WOWs also have heaps of stock. Given these cards have a validity date on them, someone's got a growing problem.

They are either going to have to pulp them or have a sale at some stage.

Starting Wednesday 27th, buy a $100 Only 1 VISA card get 1000 bonus points. $5.95 fee per card.
Thanks Dr Ralph.
What timing! Normally it'd be 2000 bonus points for the $100 card, however we'll take what we can get.
Still, a cost of 95c/card does exist, however if one can strategically use an appropriately chosen Credit Card to make the purchase at a strategically chosen Woolworths store, the points earn can make the 95c a very cheap cost for racking up the points.
