Woolworths gift card thread

Thanks Dr Ralph.
What timing! Normally it'd be 2000 bonus points for the $100 card, however we'll take what we can get.
Still, a cost of 95c/card does exist, however if one can strategically use an appropriately chosen Credit Card to make the purchase at a strategically chosen Woolworths store, the points earn can make the 95c a very cheap cost for racking up the points.
what does that exactly mean? feel free to PM me if its easier

but yes, since deval is around the corner, this would be the possibly last chance to take advantage of the generous 3ppd directly transferred to the airline using the platinum edge card

Yes, definitely interested in understanding this further.

Local champ?

foggy has hit the nail on the head. What I was alluding to was the fact that you can use your Edge at your most-visited Woolworths, get Local Champion status there and get 4 ppd. Probably the only thing that can make the 95c worthwhile. So effectively you're paying $100.95, you'll get 401 (300 base + 101 bonus) points.
Not too bad, especially when scaling this up to more cards.

have to thank you for the reminder. Gives me time to make sure I am local champ. Let me just put this out there so I don't get in any other AFF members way, i'm going to go for chatswood interchange.

Anyone know what the cheapest item would be? I know chocolates are $1 but i'd rather be buying something I will be using/eating otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose..

3 ppd without local champ is still a fine proposition to me!

buy a few non perishables, and refund them if you cant find anything you need for your home!

Last time I did split payments many times and then got LC. Next day I bought probably 6-7 transactions of 9 gift cards each, never got the LC bonus. Anyone can explain why? I've raised a case with Amex but no response...

Hmm, the LC points do sometimes take anywhere from 1 - 3 days to come through, did you give it time to post?
