Woolworths gift card thread

Happens when you buy 10 or more from my experience .9 or less per transaction and no need

I just assumed it was fraud or money laundering related. Not a problem in providing my details. Interestingly bought 10 at the last no fee sale at Woolworths and didn't have my details taken then.

Last father's Day sale I had my details taken for more than 10. Stores in Metro Sydney and one in country Victoria

In 2 yeara ive been asked on maybe 2 occasions.

Cant think of any way they could use your details for anything or find a reason to contact you or black list yoh

Have been buying up the only1s
Have purchased 3 to 5 to 10 in one trans,
Full bonus points awarded and used for next transaction straight away

Just wondering what does everyone do with awkward leftover balances? Eg. planning to use this to pay for some rates but with ~0.8% surcharge which makes the total with cents. Also, some sites only allows single transaction of total amount.

Can you cash out at Woolies the remainder?

Are you referring to only1 visa cards?

If so get a calculator out, and work out $100 Inc fee.
Then you just throw the card away

Woolies or Coles at self serve machines. Been doing this for years.

Yes. Was gonna pay for my pet registration but thats like 59 + 0.78% fee - around 59.46. Leaves me a balance of 40.54. Would use it for say other rates but some of the council/utility provider forces you to pay the full amount.

Great thanks! :)

Momad - places like telstra are great -
Work out the amount (inc card fee) - and use to mop up the odd amounts

Went down to QV Woolworths to pick up some only1 visa cards. I am guessing they anticipated a bigger uptake on purchases as there were thousands of cards available with lots of A3 and larger signs at the front entrance and all throughout the supermarket promoting the 1000 points per card offer.
