Woolworths gift card thread

I wont be buying anymore at 1000 points only.

I saw Only1visa with $25-$500 (one card only) in my woolworths store. It seems that you need to ask staff to help how much you want to credit in one card. The fee is $7.5 only. My questions are:
1. Is it available in every store?
2. Can I get bonus points if I buy 1 card with $400? If yes, the bonus point is 1000 or 4000?

1. No. But widely available.
2. No. Points are only being awarded on the pictured ($100 fixed value) cards only.

I just called them and they instantly credited the points missing from the latest visa promo. Now I’ve got an extra 1000 points for each card that I purchased. Very easy to deal with them!

I'm waiting for their customer service line to open. Does not open until 9am.

But it's fairly obvious I think that a mistake has been made. Was in the catalogue as 2000 points, but should have only been 1000 points. This is consistent with offers over the past year. Has been a very long time since 2000 points have been awarded.
As I indicated earlier. It was always going to be a catalogue error. It's still listed online incorrectly incidentally (Woolworths Supermarket - Buy Groceries Online)

Still doesn't explain why I only got 6000 points though for 10 x VISA Only cards. I did buy some different to the picture. But the wording states '$100 Only VISA' NOT just the pictured card.

UPDATE: Online chat and customer care via the phone completely clueless. Claim that they cannot see the items in the catalogue even when I provided the direct URL. I even got 'that promotion is only available online and that's why you didn't get the points.' Despite it being impossible to buy those cards online!

So far 1.5 hours spent trying to fix Woolworths problems. I reiterate my advice not to buy.
1 online chat, 1 phone call and 3 emails later my missing 14,000 points have been awarded. In total I was awarded 20,000 points for 10 x $100 ONLY 1 VISA cards.

Hard work!

Got this (targeted) email.
The bold parts are the relevant ones, since when did buying gift cards earn standard points (see Terms link)?
If you don't earn standard points, then either a bonus of 6x or 9x of zero is still ... zero?

I received the same but had not got around to reading the T&Cs.

Rather funny actually.

I think I would rather the 5% discount via RACQ anyway.

I'm not sure but I think this has been the case for a while I.e you only get points when there is a bonus offer on (and not for the face value)

Mrs Excel received a hard bonus of 750 points for $100 or more, or 2500 points for $350 or more.
So quite a low return at 3.75% and 3.57%.
No targeted email to me, yet.
We both took up the offer a few months ago which IIRC was a better return.

Yes, it’s a big assumption that they mean 6x/9x face value = about 3%/4.5% return

I now get the point that 9x is illogical. Bonus offers on GCs usually have an absolute value. Have never seen an offer on Wish before-presumably they are exploring ways to encourage purchase that are different to a straight 5% off

The question is, if the conflicting terms ended up awarding 1 point per dollar, then for a $100 gift card purchase, would you get 600 points?

From Wednesday Nov 11:

Note, although they aren't pictured in the attachment there are 10 cards from the Ultimate range included in this promotion. The footnote at the bottom of the catalogue indicates:

'Offer available on all denominations of Ultimate Kids, Ultimate Teens, Ultimate Active, Ultimate Students, Ultimate Eats, Ultimate Her, Ultimate Him, Ultimate Home, Ultimate Style or Ultimate Christmas gift cards excluding variable load from 11/11/20 - 17/11/20. '

I'll be stocking up on the kids gift cards then. Local JB will not be too impressed when I buy a new laptop with a bunch of cards!
I don't think JB will be too phased. Seems a common experience for them. I used more than 50 cards in one transaction earlier this year.

I spent ~$8500 off the top of my head earlier this year (mostly $50 cards) on an Alienware laptop for my brother and a couple other things and not only did it take ages to buy them at the Big W, it also took the lady behind the counter ages to process the transaction and the receipt they printed was never ending! She didn't seem too impressed but the guy that gathered all the items I wanted said I can pay with as many cards as I want. He gets the commission while the lady behind the desk does the hard work. Hope I don't get the same person again!
