Woolworths gift card thread

Strange how it is in the paper catalogue but not the online version. I hope they haven't withdrawn the offer at the last minute.

The online version is twice the size of the paper version, no need to be concerned about being withdrawn.

I will pop into my local woolies in the morning and see if the offer is being advertised by the gift card stand. I’m planning on buying a fair few so I do hope the offer exists at my local store!

Be warned, could be something wrong with the current 2000 point only 1 VISA offered. I only got 6000 points for 10 cards this morning. Chasing it up.

DO NOT BUY IS MY ADVICE.

NOTE:

1) Cards are scanning as 1000 points NOT the advertised 2000 points.

2) 1000 points only on the pictured Only 1 VISA NOT all different pictured/types

I got 1,000 points for a $100 Westfield this morning in Melbourne. No bonus points showed up on the screen but it did on the receipt. Not sure why only 1,000 - makes it not worth it.

My store in Melbourne has in store advertising for 1000 points. Confirmed only 1000 points at checkout.

This would probably explained why it has been removed from the online catalogue.

[email protected] to follow up or use the online chat which opens in 17 mins time. Include a copy of your receipt. They'll have to award the 2000 points as advertised, but it's going to take some time to get it done.

I wont be buying anymore at 1000 points only.

Do you mean you have followed up and received clarification it is only 1,000 points per card and not 2,000 as per catalogue?

I'm waiting for their customer service line to open. Does not open until 9am.

But it's fairly obvious I think that a mistake has been made. Was in the catalogue as 2000 points, but should have only been 1000 points. This is consistent with offers over the past year. Has been a very long time since 2000 points have been awarded.

At my local Sydney burbs Woolies just now, 1000 points only 😢View attachment 231693
As I indicated earlier. It was always going to be a catalogue error. It's still listed online incorrectly incidentally (Woolworths Supermarket - Buy Groceries Online)

Still doesn't explain why I only got 6000 points though for 10 x VISA Only cards. I did buy some different to the picture. But the wording states '$100 Only VISA' NOT just the pictured card.

UPDATE: Online chat and customer care via the phone completely clueless. Claim that they cannot see the items in the catalogue even when I provided the direct URL. I even got 'that promotion is only available online and that's why you didn't get the points.' Despite it being impossible to buy those cards online!

So far 1.5 hours spent trying to fix Woolworths problems. I reiterate my advice not to buy.

Qld online catalogue has been updated and adds to the confusion.

It highlights in bold the requirement to earn 2,000pts for $10 off.

But click through to the offer Terms and it’s back to being a 2,000pt offer 🤔 .

On Dr Ralph’s advice I haven’t bothered trying so far.

But I’m tempted to try one tomorrow in the unlikely event of a monopoly moment.

They have half fixed it with changes to the catalog (1000pts shown), but not on a specific search (2000pts shown).

I have the paper catalog with a clear showing of 2000pts per card. Locally in Tas I got 1000pts.....and not bothered trying to fight the system, even though it’s wrong!

Bought 10 (as I wanted them anyway) and was credited 1,000pts each. Rang up and enquired about the catalogue saying 2,000pts each and was told they are aware of the issue and the IT team are looking into it. Said the missing points will be credited. All up 5 min on the phone so probably can thank others who spent time on the phone over the last few days to thank.

I am still waiting for them to get back to me.

The history of these sort of errors in the past suggests they take many weeks and contacts with Woolworths to be fixed. I'm not going to muck about with it. I've already spent a ridiculous amount of time on it for what is a very obvious mistake on their part. They have until next week before I raise it with fair trading.
