Woolworths gift card thread

Bought a bunch and no points credited. This will be the third time having to chase WWR for missing points... If I wasn’t trying to meet a minimum CC spend I wouldn’t have bothered.

So its $6.95 for 500 QF points? Even with a Plat Edge which would yield about 320-odd amex points per $107 that's not so special. Other than "it's better than nothing", or hitting a CC spend, what's the benefit for tying up ones cash in a bunch of cards?

Hi Nathant, I have just bought a second batch of cards. I was a bit concerned about previous batch as no points credited as yet. I believe I now know why. Check your cards, I think you will find that they are a new batch. The front of the card has been upgraded and I would guess they have a new barcode, which for some reason they do when they change things.
Check your receipt, I think you will find it says Eftpos 3yr exp followed by the colour which in my case is silver
The old style card says Gift card eftpos 50 Gold.
Both say "the perfect gift card@ on the front.
I am going to give live chat a go tonight most probably.
Will post again once I have a result.

Woops, forgot to say, the old style card credited the points straight aeay.

So, after an online chat where they were unable to work out what I was talking about they asked me to send photos.
I have received an email back telling me points will be credited, even though I apparently made a mistake and bought silver cards instead of gold. I did this because there were no gold. It of course has nothing to do with it being a different style of card which is obviously the updated model.
I also note that on the advertisement it notes the following.

"May not be available in all stores. Colours, sizes and styles may vary by store."

To me that says gold or silver is fine.
Couldn't possibly say something like yes you are correct we stuffed up.

I have a screenshot of advert if anybody requires as this catalogue disappears tonight.

Hi Nathant,
Here ya go.
Are yours the silver cards like the ones in my pic.

Offers at Big W:
That's a bit better return than last weeks offer. Getting close enough to my value standard and I have a credit card spend to hit so I might bite.

Just checking that pay with wish cards is a no go these days, and that the 10 GCs per member is in total and not a daily thing?

Definitely can't pay with a WISH card. I can't (yet) confirm whether it's 10 cards per membership in total. It's definitely 10 cards per transaction, though.

If you have a credit card spend to complete, you might also consider that Woolies has an online sale of 5% discount off its Wish egift cards until tomorrow (others have said) - max 5 per transaction I believe.

Be aware perfect gift cards aren't processing. Been an error for at least 2 days. Very painful refund process.
Hi Dr Ralph,
I think maybe you will find that as per my posts above about the $50 cards, there are also new $100 cards out. I purchased some of the old style yesterday plus some of the new ones. The old ones worked with points coming through straight away then the new ones scanned but failed to activate. Still processed the transaction, which then had to be refunded. After about 20 minutes of testing the manager decided it wasn't going to happen and removed all the $100 cards from display.
Did you notice whether you had new style, which are white from memory, or the old style?

New style $100 cards. No other cards available.

I just bought 10 cards (they look like the ones in @Dr Ralph's post) at Big W Tuggeranong and they processed/activated fine. Points are showing in my EDR account.

The only issue was that ANZ blocked my new FF Plat card after 5 transactions and I had to use a different card for the remainder. Efficient but annoying.

As has been indicated, the issue appears to effect the new cards. You're fortunate if you can find the old ones.

Fortunately for me I got to keep the 20,000 points when I got the full refund for 10 cards.

I was going to ask about the points Dr Ralph, I had the same problem, in that they left me with the bonus points. I felt bad about it for about a second but that passed.

I can confirm that the points were awarded despite the full refund. Points now transferred to my QFF account.
