Woolworths gift card thread

Yes looks like a normal invoice just payment method is different
does it mention “gift card” specifically? I’m just concerned deduction might be partially disallowed if these words are present. Although it’s possible that I’m overthinking it.

Well played and that will be an excellent yield particularly as tax-deductible expense. Do the Qantas Shopping points definitely work if you pay with GCs?

Nothing in the T&C's excluding payments via gift card, however a lot of the newer products are excluded:

Terms & Conditions: Qantas points are not awarded on the new iPad Air, Mac Studio, Studio Display, MacBook Air (M2), MacBook Pro 13-inch M2, iPad (9th generation), Apple Pro Display XDR, gift wrapping, gift cards, Apple Developer Programs, AppleCare products purchased individually or after the applicable product has been shipped, or on freight, tax or handling charges. Apple sells and ships products to end-user customers only; you may not purchase for resale. There is a maximum cap of five (5) units per eligible product in each order, except iPhone, in which case only two (2) units per customer within a thirty-day (30-day) period to be eligible for Qantas points to be awarded. Qantas points will not be awarded on units exceeding this cap. In order for your purchase to qualify for Qantas points, the transaction must be completed within the same session that you start the purchase without exiting your browser - opening a new tab or returning later will result in the purchase not tracking.

Same for me. Not worth it though as the 4% discount through RACQ is better.

I got a similar offer - same points for the same amounts - but I have to shop via the rewards app and use Everyday Pay. Perhaps this is because I registered and have been using Everyday Pay (although primarily with gift cards as method of payment, and you can't normally buy gifts cards with gift cards, so not sure how it will handle that).

When I got to the payment page, it showed only the credit card options, ie excluded the wish cards I have loaded in the Everyday Pay.

I'll still go ahead with the purchase early next month as I have a credit card spend target to hit.

Can you use Everyday Pay to pay for gift cards at Woolworths stores?

I bought a $250 GC yesterday this way, but the points didn't hit my account overnight. I know the T&C's say it can take longer, but usually things are are processed overnight if not faster. Here's hoping this works, as I had to forgo the discount I would have otherwise gotten through NRMA.

Historically this isn't the case for this type of promotion (a separate thread discusses this in detail).

You'll also find numerous reports of points not being awarded and people having to fight for them.

As long as you kept screen shots you'll have no problems getting the points.

Reporting back that the in-store signage was super clear that the Swap Food Delivery gift card in the $100 denomination was eligible.

does anyone know if the variable Visa One cards are also $5.95?
They are, but they are the only ones worth that fee as the $500 variable load nets 5000 points which is equiv to $25 so a profit per purchase IF you are able to manage avoiding spillage (can recommend bunnings GCs as @Dr Ralph suggested in an earlier post)

One can just use split payment at a supermarket to avoid waste, no?
