Woolworths gift card thread

From Wednesday October 5:

10x points ($100 = 1,000 points) for Eftpos cards, including variables (fees vary from $5.95 to $7.95 per card)
20x points ($100 = 2,000 points) for TCN Him, Restaurant and Pub & Bar, and Netflix gift cards

Note that T&C's now include maximum earn amounts over the promotional period:
  • 175,000 points for prepaid eftpos cards (with 1 transaction per day, 5 per transaction limits)
  • 140,000 points for all other gift cards (with 1 transaction per day, 10 per transaction limits)
Don't think I'd ever hit those limits, but clearly people are if they need to impose them...

ALERT:

Check monitor at the register and receipts to ensure points are awarded.

I purchased $500 perfect GC this morning and points did not display on the screen at POS.

Operator allowed me to rescan EDR card. Still nothing.

Took one for the team and continued with the TX.

EDR details are on the receipt, but no points awarded and EDR account shows the TX but no points.

Looks like it’ll require chasing.

Is it usual that they show up at the till? I think @Dr Ralph you've said in the past that they are meant to? I always forget to check so it's a good tip - thanks to you both. I have found though that as soon as I ring they credit them on the spot (but who needs an hour's wait time on the phone when ED could just set their systems up properly in the first place!!)

I will be buying up big on these cards today to get me Points Club Plus, but the points need to land in my account this month so I don't want any hiccups.

Has anyone else had this experience today with this new promo?

Just tried paying a credit card bill at Australia Post with one of the perfect eftpos cards. Didn’t work. I thought they could be used for this.

Any positive or negative experience of the HIM card yet?

In the past those transactions processed as eftpos purchases instead of withdrawals. May have changed.

And update: Finally made time to contact EDR via live chat.

They pointed to the T&Cs which says "up to 14 days". They claim the points will appear automatically in that time-frame.

Time will tell.
