Woolworths gift card thread

Did you get the points straight away?
Yep. It showed on the screen. Started a second transaction but it showed no bonus points (not surprising as per T&Cs) so abandoned.

Does anyone know if you can split payments for gift cards at the self serve kiosks? I know you can at Coles.

Sydney Town Hall refuses to put more than 3 x $500 cards through in one transaction. Most of the staff only want to do 2. Makes it impossible to max out the offer (175,000 points = 7 days x 5 x $500 cards) as only 1 transaction per day permitted.
I had the same run around. They are worried about people being scammed. I picked up a catalogue before I went through checkout and explained that it was in the T's and C's that I could do it and could not do two transactions due to the T's and C's. A phone call to the manager sorted it; By the sound of it, the transaction hits an alarm bell somewhere up the line and they come and give them a hand slapping for doing the transaction so they are just covering their backside

So the online shopping card can be used anywhere "online" I'm guessing

5 QFF per $ I'll get a few thousand to pay bills

$3000 for 15,000 QFF is about $450 of value to me, as much as I will probably never use QF points...

Hard to say no

Points definitely hitting straight away. Had a friend that bought some early this morning that got 20 times points. No idea why. Be interesting to see if they stay.
Woolies seem good at letting you keep points in error
Flybuys take them back (except one time after a public backlash)

My reading of it is that they can be used in store as well so the "Online" title is a bit of a Furphy going to test it out a bit tomorrow to see what it can do.

I've never heard/seen these cards before, I'm going to get 1 x $500 in the morning as a test and see how it works and if I can convert/buy other cards/what it works with

It's interesting because if it's MCC based then I doubt they'd know if a merchant is online vs offline based on a category alone. I think there's a fair chance it would work anywhere but I've never used one. I might buy a few and experiment. At worst I'd just use them to buy wish gift cards.

Why is everyone talking about the TCN online card when it wasn't explicitly included in the recent promo that ended after the 15th of November? Or are you talking about the Visa Activ Online?

I purchased 1x$500 home, and 2x$50 home cards. I only got credited with 2000 everyday rewards points, not 12000 like I expected. Anyone else experience something similar?

Cards aren’t working at Woolworths Metro. They scan as 1c with no option to select value. Staff couldn’t fix.

Oh no! Seems I'm not above making a mistake! Just checked the catalogue and I see on the opposite page that variable green cards are excluded!

Which variable card(s) are othets buying,
I haven't got any yet, but my read was we need to get the VISA Activ Variable Online Shopping

...... and reading the VISA Active site, it says if you have trouble using their card with an online store, link it to PayPal and purchase using paypal...... so a new card for me, but I was going to see if I could get it to work to pay my rates via paypal...... if that fails, I guess it is more wine :D

I grabbed one of the $500 variable online shopping cards at WW metro today and only got 1x points (which in itself is odd as you normally get 0x) instead of 10x. Gonna have to do the dance to get it fixed up I guess.

Metro stores excluded from the offer?

I'm not sure, but worth checking. Have others bought cards at Metro stores and got the points?

With so many conditions as part of these offers it's getting ridiculously easy to make a mistake!

I bought some of the variable Activ Travel and Explore cards today and got the points straight away (this makes up for yesterdays catastrophe!)

Metro stores excluded from the offer?
Thankfully not

That said, it seems like they are enforcing the 1 transaction per day from others' feedback - I have to agree, it's getting to the point where the effort expended is only marginally worthwhile, if at all.
