Woolworths gift card thread

I’ve noticed with the Activ, when I check the balance, that the transactions figures don’t reconcile properly. They appear to be withdrawing more than I am spending. Has anyone else checked their transactions?
I did pay for a hotel booking (Agoda) with the card linked to paypal.
So far the transaction is still pending and the balance show less than what I expect.
It's been 3 days.

After speaking to a bot for my ultimate rewards card with no response after 14 days, then calling and being assured that they would keep a personal track of my order, I had to call back again (after 30 days) and apparently the system had been overloaded and it has now been rectified and so points should post immediately. The lovely lady again said she would follow up and make sure they were posted. Well this customer service person did and my points were posted. I bought the One Visa on promotion a week ago and points not posted so I am going to phone again today and see what the situation is. It certainly is not posting automatically for me.

With this current Activ Visa gift card promo, I am encountering resistance from the cashiers.
They want to keep it below $1000. They all want to do it as separate transactions, and won't budge even after I explained the promo only applies to one transaction per day.
Annoying.
My wife did as the cashier told her and made three consecutive transactions (for the recent perfect gift card offer). Of course only one lot of points showed up (as a manual credit). So I called up and explained that it was the cashier who insisted the transaction be split to keep it less than $1000, despite the T&Cs and my wife's protestations, and the remaining points were immediately added. Pretty good service actually and they said that they're "having trouble getting the message across to all staff".

I have come across staff that refuse to go over $1000 but I find the self serve kiosks are the answer

My wife, very much a rookie in these matters, hates "those things". It's a slow burn.... until we turn left to the pointy end then all of a sudden I haven't been wasting my time.

I didn't know you can purchase gift cards using self serve
You can purchase gift cards at Woolworths and Coles at self service stations, but it requires staff intervention and you risk an unhelpful staff member.

I’d suggest that the (lone) staff member at the self serve checkouts would start to feel a lot of pressure on them if they had to spend 5-10 minutes, or maybe even more, with one customer to put through gift cards (that set off red alerts for potential scam victims) to find they have multiple other customers in self-serve backing up wanting their attention for other minor and less time consuming matters.

Is there any usage of those card for those that don't use apple product? I imagine no, but just asking in case I missed something.
Not that I'm aware of.

They can be poplar as it's difficult to get a discount when buying apple products.

Saw this in store and ended up picking up a $100 gift card for a quick 2000 bonus EDR points. Points instantly posted and transferred over to QFF for an effective 10% discount on the purchase.

These gift cards can be used for one of two things: buying Apple products at the Apple Store (either online or in a physical retail store) or redeeming for use on iTunes which would cover any app purchases, movies,TV shows, along with Apple recurring services like Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple One, iCloud Storage, etc. Basically if you are part of the Apple ecosystem in some way, they can be helpful. In my case specifically, I use it for my student Apple Music/TV+ subscription which costs $6/month meaning a $100 gift card purchase should last me (roughly) till the end of my PhD program.

Disappointing that Airbnb is only 10x. Had heard on the grapevine Airbnb was coming, but was expecting it to be 20x.

DIY/Home Improvement card could be useful. I assume Bunnings is a valid merchant for these?
Can confirm. Tip: Buy bunnings gift cards (to avoid residual left on cards as splitting payments at bunnings is like splitting atoms) but buy them in $100 increments because cashiers at bunnings do not love turning a $500 GC into 400 other cards + cash when you buy a $5 pack of screws

Hmmm, the 10 points yields a 5% discount which is better than Shopback but are there activation/purchase fees to factor into the equation?
