Woolworths gift card thread

The WebJet offer seems appealing, especially given I'll likely be booking flights in the near future. That being said, I've never used WebJet before to book a flight (AmEX travel and Expedia are my OTAs of choice when I must use them). Aside from the obvious downside of having to deal with a middleman when something goes wrong with my flight (i.e. schedule change), are there any other reasons why I should avoid WebJet?

I think they add an extra booking fee on top of the price. $20?

I use the webjet cards for hotels only.

I received the same email as well.

Are these offers any good? Are they a good value approach for earning points on gift cards (I.e. 7 X points on the $300 GC)? Do these cards ever get the 10x or 20x bonus offers?

It all depends on the equivalent percentage discount and what discount you can buy WOW group gift cards elsewhere.

2100 points is $10.50, which is a 3.5% discount on $300. For a Woolies gift card that is less than the 4% I can get elsewhere but is 0.5% more than a petrol gift card.

I'm sure their Christmas offer gets slightly 'weaker' every year. Don't get me wrong, appreciative, but looking forward to '500 points for a $500 gift card' in a few years 😅

Interesting; I can access the website via the link you've pasted, but can't navigate to the offer via the website directly or see it under promotions. So while the T&Cs don't describe targeting I'm going to hold off purchasing unless I receive the email myself

For those that don't get discounts elsewhere and want a general offer, the Rewards app 'Gifting Store' is also offering 4% off Big W and 3% off Woolies gift cards until 30 December (5 card per day limit).

One factor is that the percentage discount is not necessarily available to everyone - you have to be a member, employee, customer etc of a certain organisation to access it.

The other is that this offer includes WISH gift cards that are not usually included. These are handy for using at Dan Murphys (and other WW group stores). WISH GCs often have a lesser or no discount compared to some other WW group GCs when the "regular" member percentage discount applies.

There's a handy table on OzB showing this.

These WW group GCs don't get the 10x or 20x offers - those are usually for buying other company GCs at a WW store.

I typed in https://giftcards.woolworths.com.au/christmas/c/christmas into an Incognito window and saw this (with banner).

Do you not see the banner? Interesting if so.

I do, just a lot of effort for low reward if for some reason I'm not eligible from not receiving the email. Strange that the deal isn't accessible via regular website navigation
