Woolworths gift card thread

I've read through this entire thread twice trying to understand this especially as it stands at the moment so please bear with me. Apart from being able to pay with Amex where I normally can't and a monetary percentage off (both very nice of course), are there bonus QF points to be had from Woolworths Rewards at the moment using the methods in this thread? I'm trying to see where extra QF points (if any) could now be earned apart from the usual credit card earn (I don't have a Platinum Edge Amex). I assume there aren't any Woolworths bonus points promotions on at the moment?

You are correct, there are no bonus WW point offers currently.

Flyingfan if you can qualify for an Amex Platinum Edge you can start your journey. Just start with that credit card.

Once you have that card you can buy 5% off gift cards from various sites like RAC or a rebate site.

No current WW bonus points offer. These have become rare. The large bonuses on perfectgiftcard, visaonly and similar may have ended.

Thanks for the replies and PMs all, it's clearer now :)
Currently there's no shortage of gift and Visa cards at my nearby Woolworths.

Yes, I think a re-stock has recently taken place at the Woolies in my area. I saw more than 500 $100 VISA ONLY today in one store.

Heading to the US next week. Anyone have recent experience using either theperfectgiftcard or VISA 1 ONLY either in the US or overseas?

Registered with Cash Rewards and tried ordering some Wish e-gift cards online, $2,000 worth. I tried payment twice but the portal didn't take it. Loathe to attempt a third time as it's a fair bit of charges pending on my card (which the bank has assured me will be taken off later). :(

There can be issues for people that have not ordered before. My suggestion is to make a few small orders with one card first.

I tried one $500 card just now and it still was no go. I think I'll have to play this game another time. Next offer.

Thanks for your help though, hope you can use your cards overseas and may you always turn left when boarding :)

So after waiting 24 hours I tried the declined card again and it went through no problem. Tried a second of my new cards, no problem. A third card, no problem. Fourth card was an old card that had been used a few times but still had more than enough $ to cover the transaction: "declined". Tried a different card: "declined". WTF?

Then I noticed that on both occasions the "invalid" and "declined" were the 4th transactions (paying my electricity bill by 'phone). Perhaps there is a limit on the number of cards used at E-Oz on the same phone call.

Will try again tomorrow.

Why do these people make it so hard for me to give them my money...........

So after spending another 24+ hours in the sin bin, I was able to finalize paying my electricity bill using the same card that has twice been declined.

I think I'll try the online payment system next time around.

Not only do they know who you are but where you shop!

I'm confident that the increased stock of cards on offer is in relation to the fact that they have been selling out of them quite quickly.

Many people are now onto this system of gaining points.

How much longer before Woolies take the same route as Coles and stop people using WISH cards to buy gift cards?

I just bought a significant supply with my latest CR eGCs. Went to 2 Woolies no issue. Went to Big W and the self serve terminal was telling me nothing was there (as they're so light) so needed attendant to swipe each time to override.
Just after I paid for my first batch, another attendant came over and asked how I was paying for them and said with eGC, she took the balance away from me and went to counter to call her manager. Wouldn't let me do anymore as 'cant pay for a GC with another one'. I didn't argue as didn't want to attract unwanted attention and left the store. I hope they don't shut this down as the systems are allowing Visa1's but I think there are some already that aren't allowed. Was going to buy some more eGCs from CR tonight. Might not as to avoid getting stuck with them as I don't do my shopping at Woolies.

I wouldn't worry too much.
All the self serves are fine. Many manned checkout people are happy to do it.
I just try and only do a few at a time at manned places in case it holds up the queue.

The odd manager makes it sound like you're breaking the law by buying them using gift cards but all their polices and rules are inconsistent.

I just try and do the self serves and be as discreet as possible

You can't use WISH cards at Coles (bad joke, I know )

What happens when you try to do the above - does it automatically reject the CM gift card? Or flag it or a supervisor to come and do something?
