Yesterday I went to my local WOW and picked up ten without issue.

Later in the day I was at another store and decided to pick up twenty.

The guy on the check-out couldn't help me as the $ amount was above his delegation He called the supervisor and I was escorted to the service desk where the young supervisor asked me why I was buying so many...what's it got to do with her? Almost told he to mind her own business! Then I got the lecture about some huge scam, etc., etc.

So over the next 30-40 minutes I was made to wait while she spoke to a number of other staff members and made numerous phone calls to the store manager who was apparently too busy to come to the service desk and say hello.

Finally, they agreed to let me buy them provided I produced photo ID! Then one of them decided that you are not allowed to use a Credit Card to purchase Gift Cards. I was about to tell her that I had used my credit card to buy hundreds over the years but decided that probably wasn't going to help.

As I had left my photo ID in the car, I just walked away.

This promo is pretty average if you only using Edge to get the points. Unless you have a staff discount card. IMO, they need to up the promo back to 2000 points or bring back the bonus $10 DJ/JB Egift card.

WTF! your first half of the story is fairly familiar but the no credit card is ludicrous, what were they expecting??? cocaine covered $50 notes?

I'm sure they expected the take-up they achieved when 5% eWish was in place
The fact that the only1s are easy to find reflects that it is a very ordinary offer.
If Amex weren't devaluing, it would be even less compelling

I find that payment usually clears over night, or next business day depending what time its done, BUT i get a we receieved payment msg about 12pm the next day, so maybe you will still get it today

My bpay into my edge from Sunday still hasn't shown up.. Looks like I'm stranded :-(

BPay payments from Edge made on weekends have been slow for me during the last month.

I have been having supermarket transactions pending for over 3 days during the last week or two.

Also, booked hotel with travel credit plus $14.10 on card on 25 March. Was a pending transaction up to yesterday but has now disappeared. Hope the booking is ok. Will call the hotel tomorrow if it is still not appearing in Amex transactions. Just hope I don't have to call Amex travel to sort it out.

In the past my transactions and payments usually went though within 1-2 days.
Seems like their processes have changed.

You can call Amex and arrange for an instant payment from your bank account.

Amex doesn't charge overlimit fees and has allowed me in the past to go over the limit. You may want to try.

Can you download the Amex App?Funds from your bank into Amex are available immediately but take a day or two to come out of your account .
You do have to wait 48 hours to do another App payment though

Went down to QV Woolworths to pick up some only1 visa cards. I am guessing they anticipated a bigger uptake on purchases as there were thousands of cards available with lots of A3 and larger signs at the front entrance and all throughout the supermarket promoting the 1000 points per card offer.

Run a decent offer and these would all sell out. As it stands I'd be loosing money by buying these.

I saw Caltex Star Cards 5% off this month. Quite a good deal if I can use my 5% off Woolies gift cards to buy them. $450 for a $500 fuel card is pretty sweet. I hope it still works as we have used up most of the ones I did for the office.

Can you stack the nrma discount as well?
That would give a 15% discount
Edit that would be 10% +5cpl off fuel (with nrma app),or 4cpl with woolworths voucher and in addition the points for the gift card and ?myer one points
