You still have the Mac Plat Card when you applied for this one ?

No issue there ?

Sorry to jump in but just received my Woolworths Qantas MasterCard today and yes also still hold my Macquarrie Plat Card. I will cancel that one soon as have received all bonus Points. Actually surprised I was approved as also have the HSBC card too

Applied today and all I got was "we'll inform you by post" or something to that effect. Can't remember if EDR displays an unsuccessful application message (last time around I was rejected and can't remember if it was informed onscreen or via a letter in the post!). Fingers crossed.

Also applied for a JQ Plat MC at the same time, the response there was "allow us up to 10 days to process your application" :-/ wait and watch I guess!

Thanks!

How long did it take for them to approve you?

From online application to receiving the card in the mail (without any other contact I might add) about a week, which was impressive.

No, my wife has that card... but don't see that it would matter as the Mac Plat Card is Macquarie, and the WW EDR CC is HSBC...

You will either get a letter declining you or the card if they approve you...

Current offer expires 31 August.
I'm guessing 12 months since closing the last EDR card is enough time to wait - have applied again.

Has anyone had any luck in calling to "reconsider" your application? I applied a few weeks ago, was rejected via mail and asked to apply again in three months time. Similar to the outcome when I applied earlier in the year.

My credit file is otherwise clean; no defaults or anything "negative".

Check your credit score.

Do you know of any way to do that without paying Veda or a competitor?

I joined Veda for a year. Very interesting to see how many times it is checked.

Check your credit score.

I have a subscription to Veda (and I get notified every time my credit file is accessed), hence my statement about the credit file being "clean and without anything 'negative' or any defaults"

I'm not aware of any way to obtain a "score" per se (the way you can in the states). My understanding is that all you have in Australia is a record of credit applications made and defaults.

You can get your credit score and have it updated monthly from Veda, cost is $85 per year. It's on their website and it's well worth it.

Yes, it's called VedaScore not "MyVeda". I've cancelled my old MyVeda.

I disagree that $85 is peanuts. It is an assessment of my personal circumstance that is used to adjudicate eligibility to receive credit. Why shouldn't it be available to me for free?

You have the right to find out what's in your credit report and correct any wrong information...

You can receive a free copy if you're willing to wait 10 days. You may have to pay if you need the report faster. You can get a copy of your credit report from these credit reporting agencies:

MyCreditFile.com.au (Veda) - 1300 762 207
CheckYourCredit.com.au (Dun and Bradstreet) - 1300 734 806
Tasmanian Collection Service - 03 6213 5555
Experian Credit Report - 1300 783 684

You could have a report with more than one reporting agency. If you live in Tasmania you may need to check with the Tasmanian Collection Service and MyCreditFile.com.au (Veda). If you live in other states you may need to check with MyCreditFile.com.au (Veda), CheckYourCredit.com.au (Dun and Bradstreet) and Experian.
