Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

The new scheme is useless, 2 recent spends, $90 and $120, and not a penny. Its because I don't buy what they want me to buy.
The arrogance of trying to direct customers! Out of touch. The problem starts at the Board and goes right through the organisation.
The Coles scheme allocates points from the first $ and on all purchases. And pays bonuses. And can work for some airline points and status!!!!

Have you noticed that Woolworths have cut out so many products..............but Coles has them on the self!.........the demise of a once great business!

What I can't figure is why do you all still bother with WW? I ditched them 12 months ago when the local Coles (across the road) had a makeover and put in place a staff training program that focussed on customer satisfaction. Anyway, under the old scheme, you had to spend $30 real bucks before you earned a QFF point.

In my case, mostly location. We have a small woolies 300m away, also on my walk home from work, and a pretty big one 1.5km away. The closest Coles is an express 1.4km away, the closest real one 2.5km with pretty poor parking.

That's tough luck. From the recent posts on this thread, I couldn't imagine members patronising WW because of the FF points. Maybe we're lucky in the regional areas.

Because it really does vary around the country.I travel to many regional centres in 4 states. Here in Kalgoorlie the Coles stores are cluttered and hopeless. The WW store very large, well set out and with many products I have never seen in WW before so that's where we are shopping.Simiarly in Burnie. The Coles store is hopeless with a poor range. The WW stores are much better but because Tassie doesn't belong to Australia according to WW sadly I do most shopping at Coles.
In Armidale there is a good Coles so that's where we shop.

It's definitely inner-city distance complaints, I know :) Where I previously lived, it was 1km versus 45km.

Aside from bonuses, the points I got from regular purchases, whether EDR or FB was never enough to make me loyal to either. It's mostly been decided on the stores (location, variety, quality of good), and visiting the other when there was a good bonus.

Distance is one factor.

We did quite well out of the old scheme. Almost enough for a Oneworld award. Probably more than enough as I'm not sure too sure how many points were earned on my account.

The new scheme has potential. But....

The problem is at Norwest. Very few of the staff in head office have worked in stores before, even though there is a store in the same building. The people designed the shelf layouts just sit on their computers all day and don't take into account things that are the same in every store, things they should know about, like the existence and size of shelf brackets or the thickness of shelf ready trays. They refuse to go downstairs to the store and test any of their designs, then when a store contacts them about issues with the layout, it's the stores fault.

Buying and Marketing sends out stock to stores that don't need it and lines that don't sell in that area. They often send out pallets of an item on special that is not normally ranged to that store. The store is then stuck with the remaining stock with no where to put it when the special ends.

They come up with all these "wonderful" ideas which will fix this or fix that, then refuse to listen to anything that shows their ideas won't work.
They waste millions on POS that the stores don't need, then cut wages to pay for it.
Last month, they sent new tea room equipment to every store. Most stores did not need or had asked for said equipment, and now it is taking up space unused.
These are people who use all their time looking for ways to cut the cost of doing business that they refuse to listen to the stores screaming at them that they don't have the wages to fill the shop or serve the customer.

Store stuff understand what the issues are and keep forwarding things on to Norwest. They are ignored. The issues have very little to do with store staff. They are doing the best they can with what they are given to work with. The problems are in head office.

I'm going social media next, Facebook and Twitter..............taking the points back is one thing, trying to fob me off is another. I really don't like the brush off....especially when I am in the right.
Woolworths does not use Twitter. They have accounts, but they don't use them.

Still waiting on points from BWS and Cellarmasters...

With the change over in the rewards team last year (or was it 2014), customer service from their rewards team has gone downhill.

Nice to hear an inside view.................just confirms what is obvious from an experienced managers perspective...............the "leadership" have zero experience at the coal face!!!!

I quit shopping a woolies in Nov, well before the changes occured...

All because they annoyed me with fuel points.

Your Reasoning was precisely the "Straw That Broke The Camel's Back" for changing both Supermarket and fuel outlet for myself also.

I don't even bother to shop around for the cheapest prices. By the time you have spent time and petrol doing this it isn't worth it. I used to shop at WW but they seriously undermanned (personned?) the checkouts and then there were no self service checkouts. I now prefer Coles and the points we accumulate on FB, we cash in when we have $FB100 and take it off a big shop. In BNK all supermarkets are equidistant from home so customer satisfaction is important.

I have actually noticed a worse trend. Over the last two years WOW have stopped stocking about 8-10 items we used to buy regularly (substandard home brand lines replaced them) and in most cases I did manage to find them at Coles. Fast forward to today and every one of those items subsequently stopped being stocked at Coles as well so from my perspective, they are both as bad as each other. I haven't noticed but would assume the same is happening in reverse

Thank goodness for IGA, they may not have all the exotic, organic, gluten free......... stuff but they do carry the branded everyday items that the average person wants to buy.

Sad end to what was once a pretty good outfit.
The QFF earnings were great although getting any value out of them from the miserly Qantas was problematic!

I wouldn't hold your breath for missing points to come thru- my experience with Cellarmasters points getting thru was if they are not there in 4 weeks , just give up.

One breath of fresh air for me is that i don't feel obligated to use BWS.
Once you start looking elsewhere, you realise how overpriced they were - only worth the money if you go on the 30% off weeks ( for > 6 bottles)

I wonder if the Woolies management genius ( or plural whatever that is ) realised the domino effects when they pulled the plug on QFF earnings?

I've stopped shopping Big W, cut back on WOW supermarkets, finished with the Macquarie Visa Card, and now done with BWS.

I am guessing that this would not have happened if management had taken a stronger line with Qantas and demanded value for money for Woolies and its shoppers from the $80M annual spend on Qantas points.

Oh well!

But isn't this what happened.WW saw little value from their $80 million spend,QFF thought they were bluffing and so the very scheme you dislike occurs.
Then QFF realises it wasn't a bluff hence the possible return of some QFF points earning.Note this will not cost WW an extra peso as they were going to give you those pesos anyway.

I have a lot of transactions with Woolworths from 10 Dec 15 to 31 Dec 15 but no points have been credited just called them and they said there is an issue with there system
Is this just an excuse not to distribute the last of the points ?
Has anyone had the same problem ?

Same for me. The transactions are clearly noted on the EDR/WWR website-I'm leaving it until end Jan to chase as I think it will be wasted time on the phone otherwise

Our IGA in BNK is pretty good except for one thing - the fresh fruit and vegies are the second worst in BNK. The worst are at WW. For example a bagged dozen oranges that I bought the last time I shopped there )over 2 years ago) had three in it that were rotten. Fresh food people indeed!!
