I get the impression that the offers that got sent out last week were actually sent to the regular shoppers at Woolworths who haven't reduced their spend since the new program started. I'm still shopping there but I rarely spend over $30 in a week and I didn't get an offer. Some friends and family members who do their shopping at Woolworths regardless of whether they get offers or not, got offers last week. In these cases the offers were too high for them to realistically take up.
I'm guessing when the next round of offers to other members come up, Woolworths might target a different "shopping pattern". Perhaps they will look at "re-engagement" of members who have either stopped shopping at Woolworths or reduced their shopping since the new program came in.
What I've said above is entirely speculation. My sample size is limited to the members here who have shared their stories and stories from a group of people I know. I'm not an expert in this field. Some of the theories above are also based on a few pieces of info from a Woolworths staff member. I have taken all of the information and come up with my own theory. I have no way of proving it at such an early stage in the new rewards program.
I would second that. We basically stopped shopping at wow in the rupiahgeddon and diverted to Coles. Came back for a few 'reminder' shops including two $100+ ones last week but no offers.
Seems like the first offers were a fortnight deal though so I guess we may see something new next week.
