so a little bit of a saving there if you wanted to join

Has anybody had any difficulty with HHonors points posting for some of the HPC specials? I stayed at the Hilton in Sydney (two separate stays) earlier this year at the $155 rate.

http://www.hiltonpremiumclub.com/offers/175 voucher xmas.html

Nowhere does it say that HHonors points don't apply yet today I get an email from Hilton in Texas (following my claim for missing points) saying:
"We are unable to process this request as the room rate paid indicates a discounted rate which is ineligible for HHonors points, miles and stay credit. For a complete list of all ineligible rates for the HHonors program please visit our website at www.hiltonhhonors.com for more information."

The only ineligible rate is the $99 "Welcome to Hilton" rate.

All booking utilising the 20% off rate are fully eligible when booked via any Hilton family web site or Hilton telephone assistance.

Getting that through to HHonors can be difficult.

In my case I had a best available rate one night followed by a "Welcome to Hilton" rate the next. It may actually be the BNE Hilton's fault for reporting both nights as ineligible...

Thanks, flashware, serfty and rwatts. I will pursue it with HHonors. Interesting point made by rwatss ab

. . . It may actually be the BNE Hilton's fault for reporting both nights as ineligible...

Interesting. My first of two stays at Sydney saw me upgraded to a truly luxurious relaxation suite; the second stay upgraded to an executive floor room (as per the T&Cs for HHonors Gold). I wouldn't be at all surprised if Hilton Sydney thought they got the rough end of the deal - $155 for that is a steal. When I stayed there prior to Christmas I had to threaten to cancel my reservation unless they upgraded me to an executive floor room (they were available and they eventually did, after first saying they were full).

As an aside, I think HHonors is a victim of its own promotion sometimes, must like Qantas. They have so many different deals and promotions and specials etc. that they can't keep up with what each amounts to. For example, I had a targeted promotion late last year (6pm checkout and free breakfast). I booked at Hiltons in Cairns and Adelaide and enquired with HHonors about how these properties would know I had this special offer. The operator told me it would be on my profile. Nope. Neither Cairns nor Adelaide had any idea.

Apparently not. Looking back at the Sydney $155 offer that I used in early December, I see in the fine print...
Offer valid 1 December, 2008 – 31 January, 2009 inclusive. Subject to availability. Rates based on twin share accommodation. Black-out date applies 6, 9 - 12 & 29 - 31 December, 2008. Offer is fully transferable. If $155 Guestroom Plus is not showing for your selected date, this means that these rooms have been sold out, however the offer will be available in a higher room type by paying an additional supplement. All prices are inclusive of 10% GST. Room voucher must be presented at check-in. Any unused portions are not transferable or refundable and cannot be taken as cash. Prices are quoted per room. Rate is not eligible for Hilton Honors and Frequent Flyer points.Offer can not be used in conjunction with any other promotion. 20% member discount has been pre-applied, no further discounts apply.
(My bolding).

I didnt receive any points or stay credits for that one and didnt expect to.

This was the Sydney only offer contained in an email on 17/10/2008 and extended in another email on 3/11/2008.

Another Sydney only $155 offer received in an email on 1/12/2008 does not mention the ineligibility for points. That one was valid Mondays-Thursdays only.

You probably need to be doubly sure about which offer you were using.

Richard.

I must have been lucky then.. mine was a Fri night stay @ Parmelia Hilton Perth, booked on a rate that was also part of that promotion.

Also got upgraded to a King Suite and a free bottle of bubbly (and that's with no status )

My recent stay in Auckland posted as an ineligible stay but I managed to get this credited to my account as a valid stay after a couple of emails to HHonors. YMMV!

This is down for me again, citing "default page."

Edit: Typical! Just as I post, it came back.

Further to my posts (269 and 273) above, I emailed HHonors back with a copy of the HPC email with the $155 rate that included no mention of it being ineligible rate. I got this response:
Points & miles can be earned for all stays excluding the following ineligible rates:

- Complimentary or barter rooms
- Contracted airline crew rooms
- Airline Industry/Travel Agent Rates
- Wholesale / tour operator packages
- Stays on NET Group, Series Group or Individual Tour Group rates
- Entertainment or Encore rates
- Stays using airline percent-off award certificates
- Third party web-sites
- VouchersWhen a member's charges are placed on a "Master Account," (arrangements where charges for multiple rooms are placed on one hotel bill and billed to a company or a common address or settled at check-out by one individual), they will not earn points for the room. They will earn points for any incidentals billed to the room and paid by the member.

No point or stay credit, airline frequent flyer mileage credit or credit toward tier status will be awarded for "no show" situations when a member has made a reservation guaranteed with a credit card but then does not check in to the hotel--regardless of whether or not the member's credit card is charged for any portion of the reserved stay per the hotel's "no show" policy.
Correct me if I'm wrong but not one of these "ineligible stays" remotely reasonables the HPC $155 offer. In fact, the response email didn't address my issue specifically at all.
