On a separate note, has anyone had experience as HHonors Gold staying at the Parmelia Hilton in Perth? It seems like they don't have an executive lounge and according to the HHonors website in situations like this you get complimentary breakfast.

A couple of years ago ... so not current information - upgraded (yay) to a junior suite on the inner side of the hotel. Nothing else offered.

There are much better hotels in Perth. The Hilton is old and pseudo run-down. Find somewhere better!

Danger lives in Perth so I would say it's a mattress run. Stays can be had for around $110-120 with HPC discount.

I am in indeed in Perth and, yes, it is a mattress run (I knew of status run but I wasn't sure what this one was called!!).

Yes, I have heard the Parmelia is a shocking member of the Hilton brand. I think it was about three or four years ago when there was a bit of an uproar (from Hilton) when the Parmelia lost its five star rating.

But, a mattress run - like a status run - isn't always comfortable!

If you get a suite in Perth can be good, and on the weekends (Fri,Sat) can be good value, certainly better than the HI.

The Parmelia is my hotel of choice when staying in Perth (as it is directly across the road from the offices of my largest client). I've always been able to get (as a Gold), an upgrade, but then again I've been coming since 2002 and probably have had 10+ stays and 40 nights there over the period. YEMV.

I received what appears to be a targeted promotion from HPC this morning for Hilton on the Park. However, the email said "Dear Mr X" where x is not my name, but somebody else's. Anyone else receive similar?

I got an offer for Parmelia Hilton Perth ($79.20 on Friday nights), but they got my name right!

I was targeted for Melbourne HotP - they did get my surname correct.

I got one today, but it had my correct name. Funnily enough the ones I oft get targetted for are for my local Hilton....

You must have received my email by mistake. ;) How much is the room rate? I am looking at staying there in March and a discounted room rate would have been handy....

In my case, what used to be my local (although Sydney gets a guernsey every now and then as well). Takes a while for some operations to get their head around address changes :)

The special wasn't that special:

  • A $50.00 food & beverage credit per night which can be spent at any outlet throughout the hotel

Perhaps I should just snap up the current rate for Hilton on the Park in March of ~$156 ($195.80 less 20% for HPC)....

Advanced Prepaid stay - how to get 20% discount?

I vaguely remember a thread somewhere about this but can't find it. I was thinking of using my last $99 stay card at Syd Hilton over Easter but i note that one nite with their prepaid rate is $151.20 which is only $120.96 after the 20% discount...so I might save my $99 card for another day. How would I claim my 20% discount back if I prepay the $151.20?
Thanks
