I have misplaced my HPC card and I have a prepaid stay next week at Conrad Jupiters on the Gold Coast. Does anyone know if I can still get the 20% off room rate without my HPC membership card. It does state when making the booking from the HPC wesbite that you need to present your HPC membership card at check-in to be refunded the 20%.

If I can't find the HPC membership card by tomorrow night can I use a 20% off member for a stay card or is it too late as I have already prepaid? But I don't have any of these anyway as they are with the HPC membership card. I wish I was more organised and did not leave things to the last minute.

Try calling HPC and see if they might be able to help you out.

They might try sending out a replacement card (and possibly rush it), or they could send you a letter of authority that temporarily acts like a card. I have such a letter because I have a Hilton stay next week, but my membership pack won't arrive for at least a fortnight. Normally the letters are for new members who obviously don't have a member card yet, but it could be your ticket out of a bind here.

I've never had much luck doing it during check-in anyway, so just e-mail HPC after the stay and then they credit back to the c/c used in the booking :)

Strange, I have always had the adjustment done at check-in, when required.

I always expect them to prompt me on check-in, but often when I check-in the never even ask for my card it's just "what's your surname" and they bring up the booking that way.

So my problem, is that I forget to ask them to do it!

So I think that when I do check-in, if I actually present my HPC card before them asking my name it may have better success rate.

And sometimes at checkout when not required !

I had a $99 stay which I had upgraded to a junior suite. On checkout the desk clerk noticed the HPC details and decided he needed to apply the 20% discount. I politely thanked him.

Richard.

I called the hotel and even though they said they will call back they did not call back.

I called HPC and explained the situation and they sent me a temporary letter confirming membership of HPC.

If I want another card it will cost me $35. I would not want to spend money on another membership card but I still had 2 unused $99 stay cards. :(

I'm going to join HPC.

Anyone want to 'refer' me and claim their referral bonus?

I could have taken it, but then I thought, "Nah, better let someone else take it."

Having said that, I'm more surprised other people did not snap it up before straitman did 2 hours after it was posted...

I actually snapped it up about 5 minutes later, just didn't post to the thread

I received my voucher from anat0l's referral today, and it has 12 months validity .. so one of them may be up for grabs, later in the year.

Hi all,
I am joining the HPC this week as a referal from Lindsay W... (Note to self..call him to say thanks).. but it will take a couple of weeks to get the pack to me.
I have a stay at the new Melbourne Hilton next week, and was wondering if
anyone who is a HPC member could loan/trade/swap a member for a stay voucher?

Cheers
IainF

If you call HPC and tell them that you have a stay before you will get your card and pack, they can email you a temporary letter that you can print off. It essentially is a limited-time authority that acts just like your real HPC card. I had to do this when I joined HPC within a similar time frame as you are (i.e. had a stay coming up within two weeks).

If you don't have email access as such, perhaps you can ask them to mail it to the said hotel directly.

Thanks for that.. will call tomorrow.
