I had it in Cairns the other week where they actually adjusted the rate on my booking on Hilton.com and on other occasions they do it on checkin.

It's never been an issue to me.

With pre-paid I've often been charged 100% shortly after booking rather than the 80%. You can call then and get them to credit the 20% back to your card or just do it when you stay.

It's a bit annoying as staff doing the charging should check the booking notes wich have your HPC info, but often do not.

I vaguely remember a thread somewhere about this but can't find it. I was thinking of using my last $99 stay card at Syd Hilton over Easter but i note that one nite with their prepaid rate is $151.20 which is only $120.96 after the 20% discount...so I might save my $99 card for another day. How would I claim my 20% discount back if I prepay the $151.20?
