I had quite comfortably re-qualled WP this year, and blackcat20 had managed PS when up pops a DSC offer that was quite tempting. So in December she and I got to talking and agreed a quick SR was in order. We were each about 400 SC away from the next 'step' in the QFF program. Our trip would earn SG for blackcat20, and partner gold for me. By the time I did the sums, my cost was about $400, with a net earn of points (due to picking up 50k), and blackcat20's cost was about 25k with the point's credit from the flights.

Our plan of attack is to head to CBR tonight (paid tix in Y), stay at the CP (as part of the Big Win promo) and then CBR-SYD-HBA-SYD-CBR-MEL in J to get back home by about 2200hrs. The J flights were booked as mASAs and the booking was quite straight forward on the phone. The only hookup was being charged 3,500 (x2) for the assistance fee, which was soon reversed. CBR-HBA return is separate from CBR-MEL with a few hours in CBR tomorrow evening. I think I will try to get an earlier flight home if we can manage it.

So, 5 J flights in one day will certainly put QF's catering to the test, as they are well aware of how monotonous (I find) the AVML meals are.

We are having quite the sendoff today. So far there are Rallygirl and straitman, with mickeyc747 and timmitch to arrive soon.

Let the race for Gold begin...

Exciting arrival in the lounge, headed straight to the bathroom to brush my teeth as I forgot in my excitement this morning

This should be fun...girls going for gold

I did exactly that run yesterday. I arrived in CBR on Mon, attended to what I had to do. On Tues morning I watched a beautiful sunrise in the CBR QP. Did my status run, I had the same crew on the SYD-HBA-SYD legs so I found myself explaining what a SR is all about.

For lunch on the HBA-SYD leg yesterday I chose the Green Chicken Curry. It was a bit spicy (I like hot and spicy a lot so it was no problem for me) but it probably was the best food I have had on a plane for a while. So much so I think I am going to send some feedback to Qantas. The chicken was succulent, perfectly cooked and the green curry was bursting with flavour. 10/10. It was served with white rice and some green veges.

I decided I would eat on each leg and I found myself well and truely stuffed (full as a goog) by the end of the day. So much so that I did not eat anything for dinner.

Enjoy you SR!

Today I am heading home, in the CBR QP now enjoying the view. I am guessing it will just be a snack in Y on the leg home.

Oops, sorry JessicaTam I just realised you have the vege meal. I hope they have something new for you.

Mickeyc747 has joined the fray, and Puppysparks has headed off on his SR. Lots of discussion about status runs and how to explain them to SOs and work colleagues.

Have fun you pair. Was good to put a real name to a forum name. Have a lot to talk about with JessicaTam I found out in the brief 5min chat before I was left on my own

Hope you are having a good day.

No Flounge in the route.

Have arrived in Canberra. No J class pax so the crew decided we needed to help drink the onboard bubbles. Now in the lounge having a post-flight drink and nibble.
