I understand VB will build a lounge at OOL later this year.

Does anyone know where ?

Although renovations and additions have only recently been completed, space still seems to be at a premium.

I've always wondered how popular the JQ lounge is, and whether they really need one. I only discovered its whereabouts about a month ago, and I travel through OOL frequently! (Although I do always fly DJ, so am not going to be told of its whereabouts from them).

Any chance JQ will drop its lounge, and be replaced with DJ's?

Apparently the OOL JQ lounge is on the move as posted in another thread, maybe the question is where will the JQ lounge go when Virgin move in??? Or maybe not, regardless it will be a good move for DJ.

Hi, thought it was about time I posted something. Have been an avid supporter of DJ over the years and am very much looking forward to the full reveal of the rebranding over the coming months. A very exciting period in Virgin Blue's history indeed.

With regard to the new OOL lounge, I've often wondered myself whether QF secured (or maintained) the lease on the old QC floorspace for JQ purely to stop DJ from opening their own lounge in that location (which would explain why JQ have no further lounges planned). Unless DJ have made some arrangement to replace the JQ lounge, where else could the Lounge be located? Airside looks chockers......

And it s about time we say welcome to AFF, DJ332, maybe the JQ lounge will move beyond the INT screening point?

Welcome also DJ332

After looking at the terminal map, I can see there is some space in front of the JQ lounge that it not being utilised. Maybe that area can be taken up, and this space, along with the current JQ lounge space can be split in half. This should provide enough room for a JQ and DJ lounge. This is the only way I can see this can be done without major relocations occurring.

Can't wait for DJ to open a lounge at OOL.

For the 5 yrs I've been living on the GC I've mostly made the arduous trip to BNE to fly QF, but lately i've got sick of that and just flying JQ out of OOL.

If DJ open a lounge and give priority checkin to lounge members, they'll win my business without even trying.

As others have suggested, not sure where they'll locate it though, haven't seen much in the way of free space in the quality time i've spent in the food court which is the new OOL terminal (don't get me started on that one!)

As a frequent OOL-SYD flyer I too will be very happy when they build one. There does seem to be very little room, though perhaps behind the retail shops?

From my experience the Jetstar lounge is woeful. Very limited range of food and beverage and overall not a very nice experience. It's quite a barren space.

I think the rumours are right. Either DJ eats in to, or takes over the Jetstar lounge or perhaps they take some of the space out of Baggage Services.

I think the former is more likely. As a frequent DJ OOL traveller I will keep my eyes open to any developments I can see.

As a fellow OOL traveller, welcome to AFF.

I bought this up (DJ OOL Lounge) a few months ago along with DJ J Class from OOL to various destinations. Not a peep of positivity on AFF, if anything, l was greeted with negativity on this board.

I would really like to see it in a similar location to the Jet* lounge, it is very private and has its own hall to walk down, discouraging strangers to wander in asking what it is ect.... I'm not sure of any other location at OOL that would be suitable for a lounge. Only thing I've seen is a shop for sale two thirds from the back near the 'international terminal'.... Its far away from most flights as they depart from gates 1,2 & 3. But then again, this is OOL, not SIN, so it isn't much of a walk from one side of the terminal to the other.

Priority Security for Golds at OOL anyone? :p

Well they'd want to get cracking, a new lounge is meant to open before end of June so that barely leaves 2 months to complete it.

I thought it was to be open before the end of the year.

As far as I know, I thought the OOL lounge was to open in June/July
