Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

I have complete confidence that there are people out there who'll post their positive RAT on social media, along with a comment about how they're not going to report it.

Honestly what we are seeing is people just not bothering to test at all now let alone use a RAT and report / not report it… Most common answer we ask why or recommend they do to confirm we just get told ‘why? You are just going to tell me to rest and take a Panadol if needed’…

Sad but true.

No one is going to bother following anything up now. It’s over.

It's interesting. In WA, it seems they've started curling over. Close Contact rules have been changed, starting to wind back on what exposure sites get listed, etc....

From the media release on National Cabinet yesterday:

Phase D of the National Plan
National Cabinet noted the epidemiological advice that the peak of the Omicron wave has passed, with significant falls in the number of cases, hospitalisations and ICU admissions across most states and territories.

National Cabinet discussed the progress to Phase D under the National Plan to transition Australia’s National COVID-19 Response. The Commonwealth, states and territories will progressively transition to Phase D including further reopening of international borders and changes to domestic health settings to reduce restrictions on social and economic activities, while safely living with COVID-19. The Commonwealth, states and territories will make decisions over the near term on options to transition to Phase D, with further consideration by the next meeting of National Cabinet.

I love the use of "Phase D". It conveys the impression of mature and sensible decision makers progressing a carefully thought out plan, rather than a bunch of clowns making it up on the fly.

Pathetic how we can not have a national consensus on this. Absolutely pathetic.
I guess all states currently have differently policies & laws on many aspects, this just another one.

The 3 jab rule can be problematic as if you visit a 3jab state from a non 3 jab state you may not be allowed into restaurants etc as they still require checking of vac. They may not considering you "upto date" re Vac.

More of a concern for me, even as an already boosted person, is that the digital vaccination certificate in the Service NSW app and iOS wallet certificate only shows up a 'valid from' date, and for the wallet app, a valid from date, and the date of the the last 2 vaccinations. It doesn't say that the most recent was my booster. Are people being asked in VIC & WA to open up their Medicare immunisation history to enter a venue, or will the respective State's apps be updated to prevent the certificate from being valid if you are not boosted?

Cheers,
Matt.

Yes the justice system is an example but I am not a criminal and do not seek to commit a crime like the vast majority of people. Those differences can be dealt with without causing massive inefficiency, cost and confusion. Vaccine mandates are clearly pretty different though as they impact literally everyone.

If politicians seek to destroy the economy then differing regulations between states as to how many jabs some office drone decides are required for the population is a great way to do it.

The problem isnt unique to NSW, the medicare certificate only shows last 2 jabs, better would be to change the apps to upload the international certificate which shows all covid doses, whereas immunisation record shows other vaccine types.

Presumably the ‘local’ version of the app must show it correctly so you may be able to download this and link your certificate there? Bit of a pain I would agree.

Personally I think it’s only a matter of time before other states align, the main argument against is not enough people have had time to get a booster but then a bit more time rules out that argument.

If it goes ahead like it sounds it might, guessing one might need to re-link before heading to a mandatory booster jurisdiction. I think the jab info is in the background, or will be developed soon, so Fed info is transferred to State as required.

The Medicare covid vax certificate was a point in time download. Constantly updating the certificate in the state apps would appear to be of limited value of we are no longer checking vax status.

Anecdotally, on the various industrial sites I've visited recently, it seems vaccination requirements are being a PIA. Not so much because of the requirement, but because producing the record doesn't always go smoothly when relying on phone apps. The apps work well in their home States, with good internet connection, a charged phone and available data.
Personally, I have a printed copy. An old fashioned sheet of paper, backed up by an image on my phone and a PDF on cloud storage for when I have to e.mail a copy prior to arrival.

If you download and save the pdf version of the medicare and international certificate to you phone memory, you can open at anytime even without network/wifi. The apps are only for checkin.

I have downloaded to my phone the Australian Government COVID-19 digital certificate.
It has my three jabs recorded though does say valid from 13 Jul 2021 which was the date of my second jab.
The details say up to 6 doses can be applied to this certificate. Should satisfy all States and Territories.

Its actually good that the increase in virus spread in WA is locked behind the prison gates to stop the numbers spreading to the rest of Australia 😂

Some friends who were ultra relieved when the border opening was canned are now back in panic stations....

It's interesting that the premier has toned down his attacks on the other stats and feds.
