Now Mal dont go giving any one else the idea of knocking tassie-enough are doing it already-including Woollies.
Any way we are having the Minister of health here today-the big one not the Tassie one.I bet they dont have the plastic knives and forks out for her:p

Speaking of whacked up time zones, I'm posting this from the small town of Mokopane in South Africa at the moment. As of typing this sentence, it is just about 2200h here.

Being 6-8 hours behind home in Australia sucks for logistics. It is basically a full work day of difference. So when I'm at work, at home you're probably just about ready to pack in the day. And vice versa. Lots of fun.

Plus organising a holiday whilst away from home is very difficult too. I hope VS will be nice about date changes....

And QF.....

Perhaps they should divert their legal team to the utterly stupid (yet trademarked) name of "iSnack2.0" for that mixture of vegemite and sawdust.

I haven't tried that as I don't like Vegemite as it is. As for the name, I heard the backlash was so big they're changing it already.

What was wrong with "name me". Lol.

Who said it was a back-lash? They may have been deliberately allowing the first "silly" name to create a lot of media attention to then make people try the product, then switch to the name that they wanted...

Not quite a 'bait and switch", but interesting if that's what Marketing decided to do. Some say any discussion in media circles (good or bad) can be good press in the long run....

Good observation. Does seem a little like that. I guess the proof will be in how long the new inventory takes to filter through, if it happens quick, then they had it planned, if it doesn't, they really were that stupid! :p

I actually did think it was a new Apple product when I first heard the name. I thought it was some kind of futuristic snack that can simply pop out of your TV screen or something.

Since when did Apple own the rights to any product name prefixed by an i?

Makes you wonder why they never bothered to take IBM to court for naming the world's most reliable computer iSeries! Or did they?

They don't?

I guess anything these days that is prefixed by an i is likely to look like it's cashing in on the iPod's success.

Funny thing is, I always thought the i was meant to refer to Internet, but all iPod's prior to the iPhone weren't internet compatible. And some still aren't.

Apple themselves have been sued over their use of an Apple. Apple Corp vs Apple makes for interesting reading. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Corps_v._Apple_Computer

And now Apple Inc. owns all rights to Apple Corps.

Finally got around to filling out my e-tax stuff. Looks like I'll be shortly taking advantage of that Credit Card facility on the ATO website... Unless I can find a way to get a lot more deductions happening.

And that's before I even start to run into dramas when I actually become "non-resident" (I think I'm just holding on with being a resident at the moment)... not looking forward to that day from a tax perspective.

I associate 'e' rather than 'i' with "internet" type things :)

Well the iMac was introduced in 1998 and at the time Apple declared the 'i' stood for internet, then they branded everything else with an 'i', regardless of if it could connect to the net or not :p

480 pages... maybe why they don't like people getting off topic haha. I think we can claim this topic as a success!!!

Anyone see the Ipood t-shirts they sell in Thailand!? I don't think they have anything to do with the internet.

Should try and find a picture... don't know if i could post it in here yet. I'm new.

Are you following me Sam?

well at least its only a CARTOON picture of someone sitting on a toilet, listening to an ipod!

How is this for a possibly overbooked flight? It's sold as J/PE/Y only (with Y in PE seats, PE in J seats and J in F seats)

Glad I'm not wait listed on that flight! Flight isn't for a couple of weeks.

Sorry for the "On Topic-ness", but it's not something to start a new thread for!

The economy classes on my recent SYD-JNB flight was oversold.

Then, within T-24, a whole bunch of economy inventory freed up and the premium inventory dropped. Obviously many people wanting to part points for upgrades had their wishes granted. Personally I wished otherwise and then would have been in the running for an op-up.

Of the 32 seats in Y+ on my flight, between a third and half of the cabin were little kids. That curtain between Y+ and Y was good to keep them within their space, particularly since I was sitting just behind that curtain (row 40). That is, except when they needed to use the loo (Y+ doesn't get its "own" loos; the closest are those behind Y row 41).

It was odd in row 40 in that even though I turned off my air vent and the hot chick sitting next to me didn't have her's on full blast, I could still hear the loud sound of air being blown. The air blowing was so loud that it was almost impossible to hear the PA announcements from my seat unless you were listening to them through the IFE.

The floor was quite cool even with the vents turned off; thank goodness for the blanket which I quickly unrolled after we levelled off.
