I could take you guys to visit the scene of the infringement during AFF #3 to really show you that I (and many other drivers) would think it was OK to park there ... there really wasn't any sign to direct otherwise unless you saw it 150metres back, if it wasn't blocked by another sign and you took your eyes off the road (which you couldn't do because the road is narrow, with other cars, and a speed hump all at the same time).

Hey this maybe the only tarmac tour we get to have if the other mob doesn't come through. :p

I agree with you about the sneakiness though.

Anyone know of a goo bluetooth program? I used to use one but ive forgotten what it is...

I have succesfully upgraded my little Mini from Linux to XP but still need bt and audio drivers.. The audio drivers i can live without for a while but the BT is not an option.

As an aside - i ahve finally migrated my entire organisation to Google using Google Apps! It was fairly painless too I'm happy to say with it all being done in under 30 minutes when i finally worked out who ahd to change the DNS records!

Don't forget that daylight savings starts early Sunday morning in NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS and SA.

Another 6 months of having several time zones in Australia.

Thanks for the reminder - I need to tee off at 6:07 am (EST) or 7:07 am (EDST) - that's in < 8 hours

Go Storm!

Bugger! Completely forgot, why can't QLD have DST?

Because Anna Backflip Bligh can't find the strength required to take it to the polls again.

- that said, there are genuine objections to DST from some Northern/Western residents, and I can see why they don't like the proposal.

I'm against a SEQ only DST trial - the state should be in one timezone.

Specifically on your last point... is why WA will never get DST permanently. It makes sense for the lower part, but not the northern. It's a PITA!

I really do not understand the objections.

The overwhelming majority of people in Queensland live in SEQ in heavily populated areas. It is a joke that it is clear daylight at ~5:00am and dark at ~6:00pm. Assuming standard business hours of 8:30am-5:00pm then it is dark by the time I get home.

In SYD I used to have plenty of time to play 18 holes of golf after work. In BNE there is not much one can do outdoors after work....

I really do not understand the objections.

The problem is that you havn't lived (or spent substantial time during Summer) in places like Charleville, Mt Isa, Cairns, Weipa etc.

I understand their concerns, but really want Daylight Saving.

If it was put to poll tomorrow, I would vote for DST, as would a lot of SEQ residents. However, the North and Western parts of the state will object strongly - and rightly so, for their own reasons.

It is to each his own with DST.I am a resident of SEQ who would vote against DST for purely selfish reasons.I prefer my exercise early in the morning.I love being out on the golf course before 5am.I would hate to have to play in the evening.besides even in SEQ with DST sunset would only be ~1945 unlike more southern climes-I would not have time to fit in a round after work anyway even if with the humidity I wanted to.

6,000 posts and still going strong...in less than 12 hours.

More Aussies on there now (and on here as well, no doubt)

Now its been 48 hours and its 23,402 posts.

I guess Randy isn't going to read it and just select a post from the thread, and I guess this is where if you have posted more than 1,000 times in the thread then you have a slightly better chance of winning.

I'm against a SEQ only DST trial - the state should be in one timezone.

The whole country should be in one timezone, well 3, and when summer comes around the whole country should shift, not certain states, or certain parts of states.

It screws up everything and is less about extra daylight and more about not being out of sync with the rest of the country.

If it was put to poll tomorrow, I would vote for DST, as would a lot of SEQ residents. However, the North and Western parts of the state will object strongly - and rightly so, for their own reasons.

And what percentage of the state is in SEQ?

Well, not a single clock managed to update itself to DST this morning

I know a few people with iPhones in QLD that found them on the wrong time this morning. Though that's their fault for not disabling DST, and setting their time zone to Sydney.

I discovered that my Windows 7 mini notebook thought it was in Brisbane. Moving it to Melbourne fixed its time.

Both my Telstra mobile phone and Windows Vista laptop updated to DST.

I now have to remember to change time zones on the mobile phone for the next 6 months.

Currently in MEL QP awaiting flight to DPO.Today they reckon it is an hour in front of SEQ.
And how many years behind:p
