The totally off-topic thread

I've been in Munich since Sat night, at Munich airport now waiting for my flight back to London.

I could kiss airport staff sometimes when they tell you things you want to hear. My flight isn't until 9:15 tonight, yet I was running very early and arrived at the airport about 4:30pm. There are 3 flights MUC-LHR over this timeframe. I had to check my bag (have a 1L can of beer in there!), so used the QuickCheck machines, and sheepishly asked if I was able to check in my bag ... certainly was the answer I got!!!! That's not the normal experience I have with BA and checking in bags early!

Oktoberfest was good fun - well the bits of it I remember. Attended most of the tents, and drank way too much beer. But it was good fun.

I should have headed out and visited the BMW Munich museum today, but for some reason I kept thinking it was further out of Munich than it actually was ... found out about 3pm that it was actually very close and easy to visit on the S-Bahn.. bugga!!

So should I purchase one of these shirts?

the TFL website (Transport for London) allows you to take a portion of the Tube/Tube+train map and have it put onto coffee cups/tshirts/mouse pads etc etc. Fairly exy, but of course they want to make money from it (and own the copyright to the map as well).

Do it Mal. I used to own a tea towel with the whole Tube network on it, but it fell apart due to use. It's a momento that might last 10-15 years (significantly shorter than the Heathrow terminal network :o)

This almost needs it own thread;

Australia getting close to 22,000,000

ABS Population Clock.

  • On 1 October 2009 at 11:33:38 AM (Canberra time), the resident population of Australia is projected to be:

    21,999,878
This projection is based on the estimated resident population at 31 March 2009 and assumes growth since then of:
  • one birth every 1 minute and 44 seconds,
  • one death every 3 minutes and 39 seconds,
  • a net gain of one international migrant every 1 minutes and 53 seconds leading to
  • an overall total population increase of one person every 1 minute and 12 seconds.

+1. It's sooo cute! I once had a map of Milan's fashion district painted on my bedroom wall at my parents' holiday home. Years later it was on a tshirt designed by Tom Ford - i shall sue! :p

Well as I'm not doing any work, I'm already on my second, soon to be third beer, relaxing at university and listening to 60's music.

For a change I was actually working.

It's a miracle!

On a more serious note, I've just completed my first session at the gym since the operation and very pleased to say that it all went very well! :p

No, that fit's just perfectly into this thread, Bundy Bear. I heard that on the radio this morning....boffins need to do something constructive than calculate when our population may statistically reach the 22M mark.

That must feel good - and at least that way you wont look like the blimp that im slowly turning into by being able to do jack! My good news is that the specialist reckons i can get back on a bike (provided its a wind trainer) when i want. Bad news is he says i cant play golf for 4-6 months and wakeboard for 12 months! We shall see about that but as it stands now i wont even be contemplating it. I have had a hectic day because MrsGurio had to go to the doctor with suspected swine flu and so ive been sitting and standing almost all day. Not to mention going to the doctors 3 times in total - a nice easy was to motor through $200 without much effort. Good news is, aside from the fact that there isnt that much inside MrsGurio any more is that she has a middle ear infection and a perforated ear drum. But a few needles and anti biotics and shes feeling now like death which was a huge step up!

Lets hope we can all get some sleep tonight and feel human in the morning!

Hope your wife is feeling better! I've actually lost 5kg over the past month, but that could have a lot to do with not drinking booze

Terrible news on the golf :( :D
