The totally off-topic thread

Wow, what a post rate on that thread. At the time I posted (2 mins ago); there had been 3,598 posts in 6.5 hours. I don't think Randy envisaged having to read that many posts to pick a winner :D

There was no indication of how Randy was to select the winner.

RULES:
There are none. I want this ticket to go to yet another enthusiastic member of FlyerTalk, so I'll be selecting a member who demonstrates his/her enthusiasm by posting in this thread. You can post as many times as you want before 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2009 - Mountain Time.

You read that right. All you have to do to be eligible for this unique experience as my guest is to post something -- anything, even a single word -- into this thread. Obviously, the more posts you make the greater the chances are I'll see your name and select you, but it only takes a single entry to be the lucky one. But do me a favor -- no large type size posts, no images and no colored text.

OK, there is a single rule: I'll only select a member who was registered prior to Oct. 1, 2009 on FlyerTalk.
I'm sure he can filter them based on whatever criteria he chooses.

e.g. > 2000 posts, < 10,000 posts, Living in Oz ;) ...

or just randomly pick one.

Now its past 4,190

No

I just checked again; 4231

Has anyone tried to read it; almost impossible, its much worse that an AFF off topic thread.

Now 5,674 posts, but it is slowing down given the time over in the USA. Some guys are just posting fluff - I sure hope Randy picks somebody decent.

Indeed, for the last contest he just picked a post number, there is no way he can read thru all the posts. Nor would he want to...

6,000 posts and still going strong...in less than 12 hours.

More Aussies on there now (and on here as well, no doubt)

I've added my $0.02 onto the thread - see how it goes.

Good luck everyone ;)

Aye, it's a properly off topic thread! Good fun, even without winning something :)

As an aside, I wonder if oneworld would ever get involved in something like this?

Ok, not such a good start to the long weekend .....

  I got a parking infringement   thanks bl00dy Sydney City Council ... bl0000dy thieves really who make ALOT of $$$$ from parking fine revenue; one of the top councils in Australia in terms of earning $$$$$!

First fine of any type for me in more than four years but still..... its the principle. Just reaffirms my passionate dislike for parking officers ... which IMO has to be one of the worst jobs in the world! (going to work and being scared for your life everyday in case some irrate person threatens/abuses or even assaults you over a $50 fine).

I could take you guys to visit the scene of the infringement during AFF #3 to really show you that I (and many other drivers) would think it was OK to park there ... there really wasn't any sign to direct otherwise unless you saw it 150metres back, if it wasn't blocked by another sign and you took your eyes off the road (which you couldn't do because the road is narrow, with other cars, and a speed hump all at the same time).
