Have to check out when this is. After SMD 1,2&3, I do understand the fun of charters, but not yet ready to get into arranging them!

The thought is to show DJ appreciation at some stage, with us enjoying what we do about flying & airports!. Let's just toss the idea around a bit & see what turns out best for most people. I'm not really sure of how such things come about here yet.

I quite like the idea of an AFF group travelling on a Virgin flight.. We can show some appreciation.

Is we are going to do this, of course, we should do it properly. Ie.

Try one of the new ATR aircraft.
Try one of the new 737 BSI
Try the A330 (Is is still running SYD-MEL-SYD?)

I like the idea of launching in Brisbane. If the Mackay lounge is open, we could try that?

Chartering the ATR 72 seems like a good idea.

Could do a lounge crawl in it, BNE-SYD-CBR-MEL-ADL in a day.

Virgin Australia could show the aircraft off at each port for an hour or so, whilst the pax are lounging, VA will get the benefit of some revenue carrying AFF er's around. :mrgreen:

I'd think we would need to fill the aircraft to make it worthwhile. The landing at SYD & MEL alone would be outrageous!

I am not really into the idea of a charter - won't really show those who aren't regular DJ flyers what the experience is like.
I vote for a few flights the weekend before the sale cut off dates - I think the first weekend in December - before the holidays start.
We all start in our home cities, and then fly round.
Eg.
BNE-SYD-MEL-BNE-SYD-MEL
With members getting on and off back at their home city. Theoretically, we will have everyone on the MEL-BNE flight - which is the longest hop.

I agree, BNE SYD CBR MEL ADL could be the go, with an after party at the IC in ADL
