Managed to book my flight to Europe with China Airlines even though the QF call centre said only oneworld partners can be booked with points! Now... what is the seat and service like? Interested to now given they (and JAL) are some of the only QFF partners releasing J class awards.

I think SYD was daily A320 so 186 x 7 = 1302. 6 x weekly (3 MEL/3SYD) A321neo = 1392. Was there an extra 90 seats available under the bilateral?

I'd take the neo dayflight over the redeye 787 in j anyday on such a short flight.

No surprise the 787s will be taken off DPS. The real question is what other routes with the 787s go on above the extra flights from BNE-ICN/KIX recently announced.

They current 321neoLRs probably don't have sufficient range to do it with a decent payload. I'm sure once the XLRs come from 2024 they will be primed to take over the CNS 787 flying. I believe they can fly around 9-10 hours with a decent payload.

Except Delta is not really a proper partner... it is only an interline relationship which most other airlines have with each other... QF has an interline relationship with Delta and there are no FF crossovers.

I woulds of thought both Tonga and Samoa were more suited to Jetstar and their neos than QF.
