    QF Explorer Comp

Wonder if it wiull be status/points earning - I know most competitions are not but given they are advertising the oneworld explorer fare... Interesting with all of the "QF is leaving OW" comments to see the OW explorer fares being heavily advertised currently...

    CL P1 exists???

Access to the Chairman's Lounge for a start. More frequent upgrades on DOM flights for a second. More likely to get a First Host at int'l ports than a vanilla P1 travelling in F. Zachary.august - just wondering how someone else getting the same benefits devalues CL? You still get all of the...

    Refurbished 767s - bin 'em!

Also what has a better marketing spin: "We have implemented new state of the art wifi based IFE on iPads" [that blows VA out of the water] "We have spent more money on bigger overhead lockers" [which means more carp on board]

    Ask The Pilot

There is a third view - that QF hires good pilots, trains them well, maintains safety standards and that is one of the common links - good pilots and good safety standards.

    Ask The Pilot

That explains the hyperbole, bias and poor reporting then.

    Ask The Pilot

Umm where was the article taken from? It reads like it was an ATSB report but I wouldn't expect such a sensationalist biased anti QF management line to be used by the ATSB.

    Are our points worthless now?

Thing is - I don't want to be doing 100 DOM whY sectors per year...

    Are our points worthless now?

So for me personally on this year's travel (say 45 return trips to MEL from SYD) all booked as flex savers so tending to book into V class - I would earn 1,800 SCs - enough for WP on QFF. However on AAdvantage I would earn 38,610 EQPs - not even enough for AA Plat (being equivalent to QF SG)...

Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

I would have to say that this thread has become surprisingly tame in the past 24 hours... I am disappointed that the Australian public wont get a chance to oust the party led by someone like Gillard - oh wait they will - Rudd is just like Gillard having both betrayed a sitting Prime Minister in...

    Are our points worthless now?

Just for clarity the answer to the OP is no.

    Are our points worthless now?

Classic awards haven't changed. They are still expensive compared to Aadvantage.

re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April Thanks for the clarification - it isn't something I have used much so was not 100% sure.

[Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10April

re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April Given that ASAs have only been around for a couple of years what were you booking a few years ago?

New Job 80-100% int and dom often at last minute travel advice please :)

I personally couldn't go away for months at a time - but that is because I have young son at home, I would miss my wife and it wouldn't be fair on her being home alone with him without help. But that is my stage in life. At this point the perfect job for me would be 2 - 3 week/two week trips...

Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

In Finland (which is in Europe but not the EU) it is €20, in Sweden (also Europe but not EU) it is $150, Denmark (aEbnEU) €18, Switzerland (aEbnEU) CHF36 (that probably converts to some number of A$). I am not defending the carbon tax but let's be open and honest about it. She's not gone yet...

[Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10April

re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April I think in line with most changes - existing bookings don't get impacted (hence the confusion around baggage changes when old bookings get "better" allowances than new bookings).

[Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10April

re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April I think that QF didnt actually give a private briefing to a few on this site but to relevant travel media (no offence to people who might or might not want to be called media) people and that included people on...

    BA introduces electronic luggage tags

Interesting - not sure the environmental saving is great - what resources does it take to make a plastic (non-biodegradable) electronic device vs. a biodegradable paper tag made from sustainable forests?
