China Airlines J Class Booking - Entering Qantas FF #

You will not earn miles and status if you book direct via China Airlines. You need to book via QF or a travel agent for the QF codeshare.

    Etihad Compensation

Unfortunately, you've 'signed' two different contracts : One with EY - that got delayed - you then got accommodated to your final destination albeit later Second with the other airline. This is the risk when booking two different tickets/connections. EY fulfilled their contract by flying...

Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

From the media-room article : “Today is also a significant day for Velocity members who can now earn and redeem Points when traveling to over 500 destinations around the world with Virgin Australia and our partner airlines.” I would have expected that they release details about their codeshare...

    A380 landing sydney airport

A bit off-topic, but Etihad has started codesharing on Asiana's ICN-SYD service. They are also pushing quite hard for their CGK-SYD codeshare service on Garuda lately. I assume they are at max capacity out of SYD. Would be interesting to see if they re-introduce the A380 to SYD.

VA Status Match to QF via Travel Managment Companies

I tried but I don't have access, it seems. We'll have to have for a moderator to edit the title.

Bendigo Ready ($0 p.a. 0% foreign fees, includes travel insurance)

Has anyone applied and used the card? I have never banked with Bendigo but this would be - I think - a great addition for a go-to card in my wallet between churns. I have read, however, that they are often declining new card applications if you churned through two or three in the previous...

Help - what do do with miles from EY flight?

Would it make sense to credit them all to American Airlines so you can spend them on QF? Otherwise - EY Guest allows AA/VA/NZ/SV/WY/GF/AC and many other redemptions. Otherwise - VA Velocity for all their partners if you just want miles to spend and start building status for two of your...

30K Bonus Velocity Points or 250 Status Credits or $200 Coles Voucher with New Credit Card

I had them on my first statement which then posted into 2 entries on the same day on Velocity. Velocity then added the bonus the next day - so everything was done quite smoothly. Maybe call them to check that they gave the correct velocity number in the back-end ?

Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

It’s from previous experience, I had to interact with them for my tickets and my brothers’ and it was painful. Have you tried contacting them via email or phone ? Their customer service is not great and if it’s a request that’s out of the most common one, it’s a systematic no, not possible...

VA Status Match to QF via Travel Managment Companies

Evening, I don't recall seeing any communication anywhere but CTM offers a Velocity Status Match for Qantas Frequent Flyers (seen posted on their Linkedin page). The promotion is targeted to companies booking only via CTM - but it's a direct status match to the relevant Virgin Velocity status...

Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

No - the status match promotion is long closed. QR is not really customer focused so I believe it would be next to impossible to get them to grant you a status match unfortunately.

    Aeroplan & Oman Air

You might want to calculate how many miles you’d get with Aéroplan and with Etihad Guest and see which one would make more sense to credit to. Aeroplan has many partners / Etihad Guest has great availability on Virgin Australia services.

SkyTeam Status Match - ITA Airways

Sorry - just saw it now. I asked the manager on duty if she has some knowledge of Amadeus check-in and using the FQTS and FQTV commands. She knew instantly how to make it happen in their systems (she was a VN senior employee at Da Nang). That's from the SQ newsletter for a flight cxl -...

    Virgin Australia/Etihad partnership future?

All great points are raised above. I do quite like the VA/EY partnership as I found that the integration was and is always very smooth. I fly EY/VA to Europe in Y three to four times to Europe per year as an Etihad Guest member (so a bit different than a Velocity member) and I never had one...
