Qantas Advertises "Fully Refundable" - but it Isnt!

You'd have an argument if QF had said "Refundable in limited circumstances, terms and conditions apply" or similar. They didn't. They said "fully refundable." The normal way you get a refund is when you _choose_ to cancel and get a refund. Hence all you've defined is a single scenario, not all...

Will Virgin Australia international lounges ever return?

Do they though? I'm sure many assume, since the great bulk of travel is on domestic which has lounges, that international would equally. And it's not as though the booking option for business international makes that deficiency explicit. No reference to "NO Lounge access" on the key criteria...

    Virgin Australia Middle Seat Lottery

Seems like their system thought you were on a 737, where F is the window seat. That route sometimes runs a 737, though obviously not on your flight.

    Status Promotion Problems

Do you have the terms of the promotion? If status credits are always (or were intended to be) awarded at month end, then it would be a goodwill matter rather than an issue with not doing as they were meant to.

Anyone been able to change their review date?

In individual situations like this, where each scenario will differ (timing, no of points/credits/sectors, status level, partners), it's better to just contact their platinum service desk directly yourself for assessment, as it's highly unlikely any scenario will be exactly the same as yours...

    Amending Velocity reward on QR

I'd send a tweet to https://twitter.com/qrsupport and see what they say about booking the ticket separately, adding to PNR, then connecting the luggage through. If that works you'll pay as a separate award then, but it will get you what you want. Nobody will be able to confirm about what will...

    Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Only two types do international, the other type is domestic only. The way to tell the difference is to check the seat map of your flights and see whether there is a row 29, or it finishes at row 26 in front economy. If there is a row 29, you have a side by side. If no row 29, you have a suite...

The Velocity Status Run Master thread

There's a whole bunch of terms relating to that * below the message. Read through that, and ensure it accurately applies to your situation. If it does, then it's just something they should correct.

QR withholding award seats from Qantas?

While OW may have its own rules (or not), this is far from unique in the alliance world. There are also sorts of restrictions/exclusions amongst Star Alliance members having access to other alliance members, so being in an alliance doesn't generally limit that behaviour.

virgin domestic business class rewards cut in half? Have I missed something? unable to book any flight PER SYD or PER MEL for 2 using rewards

Yeah, I posted about this about a month ago in another thread, and it includes shorter distance flights e.g. SYD-BNE. Some days had been entirely wiped to only have single seats redemptions (no doubles). Even days that still have them, most flights are single seats only, but with a couple of...

Cruising choices with an active Pandemic

Yeah, it and others like it are a bit misleading as a financial comparison. While getting it for $300/day is potentially feasible, it doesn't mention the trade-offs, nor the requirements and limitations of doing it for post-retirement/elderly. It also disregards that they still have fixed...

Does QF release any international premium cabins to partners anymore?

I suspect they do. But presume it's the same back of the queue as their Bronze FF. And we know how bad that is... edit: And indeed that seems correct. Found a Business flight Syd-MNL on QF 19 Oct. Checked AA and it's also available there. But yeah, Bronze QF have virtually no hope of finding a...

    VA Redemption on HA?

I'd just try again another time, with another agent. Could have been a problem with systems at that time, or with that agent. But reportedly others have done it, and equally if there were significant problems I expect it would have been reported before.

Anyone been on Disney Magic at Sea ?

Just some general commentary on pricing/cruises as you mentioned you are new. I haven't sailed Disney though kept an eye out when they announced arrival, but have experience on other mainstream lines (similar generaly standard to Disney). Basically, for cruises in general, that price is very...

    UpgradeMe pricing and success

It's fine. The credits and sectors are counted based on when flown/earnt, not when credited. That's why they give the extra month of grace on your account for validity, to allow late credits/sectors to come through without impacting your status.

Random cheap fare: MEL-AYQ $99 each way

I think even if you disregarded the costs, if you calculate the actual free time you'll have on the ground after transits and check-ins, you'll find it's too little to make it worthwhile.

    A $5000 mistake. :(

That's just the cause of why it's incorrect.

Cruising choices with an active Pandemic

Adding a different country is always problematic as not everyone is Australian or NZ, so won't have visas. Plus on top of that there's the frequent algae cleaning issue that's prevented cruises actually scheduled to go there from going this season.

Article: Virgin Business Class: Domestic Tops International

Completely agree. Not sure why they think it acceptable to have an inferior product internationally i.e. lacking lounges than domestically.

Double Status Credits Virgin Australia Activate by 10th Feb 2023. and Travel by 31st March 2023

The card is valid for an extended period to cover delays in credits being applied, as above. But the credits actually have to been earnt before the review date, so 10 Feb in your case.
