I didnt think it would. as earlier posted in this thread, however on the 21st of September $3.60 was billed from Itunes (as per above billing note) and 4 MR points were awarded, and it counted in that batch of 5 transactions for 5000 bonus points

There was an earlier poster who indicated that he had expenses in his Mexico (I think it was) office posting.

So it may be that Amex are yet to run their Overseas Filter over all spend. If they do you may find "bonuses" disappearing.....a bit like the POC for people who had gained multi-bonuses, but which were later reversed..

I would not get to coughy over what has been advised over the phone.

To put it bluntly, the CSR's still dont have the correct information.

I along with 2 work associates recieved letters today from Amex dated the 4th of October 2008.

2 of us registered on the 18th, the other on the 21st (although it was logged in the system that a registration attempt was made on the 20th and was unable due to technical issues).

All 3 letters state the following:

We confirm that you are enrolled in the promotion as as XX September 2008. This means that as well as the standard Membership Rewards points you earn, you will earn an additional 5,000 points for every 5 eligible transactions to a maximum of 10,000 bonus points each month until the end of the promotion.

We hope you continue to enjoy the promotion.

All the same, only difference is the date enrolled, all of us recieved the 5000 for 5 transaction card.

Now it is time to lodge a complaint with the respective authorities.

I'd ring Amex, point them to the terms and conditions clearly displayed on their website.

Have already done that, and have taken many screen shots.

Mind you, these letters were dated the 4th (Saturday) and the new 3rd/4th version of T&C on the website only came out in the past 24hrs.

Been advised to call back tomorrow, have been given a case reference number....

Either way, I feel it is time that the ACCC complaint form is submitted and go about it as though what they have sent in writing is where they stand.

WOW so the letters were sent out, so maybe the CSR's that said this the other week were telling the truth.

After just thinking this promo was all sorted, now 2 people have received letters saying their is a cap. Yet the T&C's on the website say otherwise.

Funny stuff again

Out of interest, did you request the letters? (Given they are signed customer relations)

Did you or either of your friends get any bonus points added to your account before the freeze by amex, and if so did any of you have any taken back outy of your account

cheers

However this time it is in writing and on official Amex stationary.

Yep :(

So 2 were registered before the 20th
All received postacards
The T&C's on the AMEX website are clear and do supercede the letters.
Print off everything from the website and keep copies, guard them more than your Passport!!!

I am not sure why they even told you to call back, the T&C's are on the website.

See what the morons say tomorrow when you call back, if they say the letter stands then take matters to the ACCC etc etc

Can anyone advise on how to navigate to the bonus points FAQ page, without directly clicking on the previous links?

Thanks.

After being told yet again on the phone last week that I was uncapped I asked that this be put in writing, and look what I got in return.

The other 2 letters were unsolicited.

There is no links between any of the 3 cardholders, all are personal cards, mine is a Gold Charge and Plat Credit plus supp cards, the other 2 cardholders have green cards with no supps, live in totally different areas of Sydney, etc etc.

The only common link is we work for the same company (along with 40+ others)

Am not expecting much except the usual runaround...

What I would like to suggest, whilst I am happy for anyone who gets the uncapped deal in writing, please be wary there are some of us, and maybe quite a lot who are getting burnt by Amex's inefficiencies and blunders setting up an environment of "Haves" and "Have nots", which IMO is discriminatory, but anyway, be mindful some of us are gtting treated with distain from Amex, and at the end of the day, we recieved exactly the same offer, yet are being treated like idiots or poor cousins.

I best stop there, getting cranky now (at Amex.... grrrrrrrrrrr)

I have irrefutable proof that I signed up pre-Oct 20 ... mainly because Amex posted "bonus" points before that date.

Can't wait to see if I received a "capped" letter.

Likewise, although the current T&C's on the website were posted after these letters were sent.

Hence my question to file51 asking if any of the 3 of them had bonus points added to their account

25,000 in my account (no adjustments to date - only 5000/5 offer enrolled with card)

15,000 & 20,000 in other accounts at the time that points stopped being credited on or around the 24th of September.

There was a few hours over the weekend where a few hundred MR points vanished, but they were back there after a few hours

Can anyone tell me how to navigate to this page from the Amex home page? Obviously I can access the page via this link, but find it interesting that I can't locate the page from the website myself, despite trying various links etc  Thanks.

Did you register before or after the 20th September 2008 ?

http://www.americanexpress.com.au/myreward was a well known URL for the promotion. If you go there, you get to a page, that now links to the FAQ.
