I'm glad to see everybody took my post in the spirit in which it was meant and a bit of levity was added to the thread (as well as going a bit Off Topic).

And could result in the ultimate penalty ... multiple mothers-in-law .
That I have  (lucky I get on well with both of them)

The bigger problem here might be if twins result.....as that will be a clear multiple transaction when only one transaction was originally intended!!;)
It may, given my father is an identical twin and twins go back in his family tree..

However as the promotion ceases on Dec31 you might just sneak that through.....
Always the intended outcome

Maybe your shopping at the wrong pharmac_;)
Ah, does Mrs BE's take Amex. How do I get the script to her and does she deliver? I hadn't even thought of step M-i-L who works in a pharmac_ . I wonder if they take Amex?

Some people will do anything to get a few points!
Brownie points...absolutely. She actually wants to be pregnant.

Other than a short period mentioned very early in this thread, there have not been links freely available to these pages from the home page. The point was that it was intended to be a targetted promotion, and you got to the URL from what was on the postcard that you've been sent.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I did get a postcard and had a URL from that, however I'm not sure that posting changed T&Cs at the same URL is a particularly effective way for AMEX to notify of customers of the changed T&Cs. Hence, I had been expecting to be able to find the link from the homepage. At least now I can stop looking for something that isn't there.

Did anyone else call up and register before Sept 20th, get a confirmation on the phone then call up the following week to be informed they were never entered into the competition?

.... Wasn't sure if this was a way for Amex to save pts or a simple mistake by the Amex personnel forgetting to enter me???

I would think the phone call would be recorded normally anyway...

same same, just printed out the MR transaction pages,...

My printer is beeping ,,,, out of paper :)

Amex has deducted 5,000 MR points from my account on the 7th October. The transaction description on the MR account is

Group - POC Low engaged V2..

I don't think I was targetted but I signed up for the promotion on the 17th September (?) and I had received 10,000 bonus MR points. Has this happened to anyone else? I apologise if this has been covered but I am trying to catch up reading this thread and I am still only at post #1641....

John, yes it has happened to many others. Not myself, though I only ever earned 5,000 points on 10 transactions.

My brother did call up and register before 20 Sept then called up again today to check his status and to be told he is now on 10000 points / month's offer.

I am hoping they (the call centre staff) can't just un-enroll someone already enrolled prior to 20 Sept regardless they received invitation postcard or not.

Re: Moderation Notice

We have reason to believe a poster here is using more than one handle.

Some posts have been redacted pending investigation.
Not just in this thread. It has been happening on AFF, for a while now, with a number of "newer" posters in a number of threads. I have already had PM discussion with another moderator but as I do not have concrete evidence no point in me taking issue further....

AussieMark,

This is not and never was a competition :!: Do you mean a promotion :?:

Well it is a game of chance ... of sorts :D

Up until a few days ago yes, now the T&C's are clear it SHOULD be fine. But I think file51's workmates are still playing the game of chance after those letters saying they were capped!

I am looking forward to the first person to post they have started to receive bonus points again  The 18th of November onwards will be interesting, which is the 8 week mark.

Just Wait or phone up CS???

I enrolled online on 18 Sept, no postcard. Phone CS 2 weeks ago and was told that I am still on 5x - 5,000pt no cap bonus.
With all these discussion above, should I wait till 8 weeks to see what really happens or call CS again??? They might change my T&C to a capped one anytime:evil:

Have you had any bonus points posted yet ?

Do you have any proof/printout that you signed up on the 18th ?

Not much you can do either way, you just have to wait until mid/late November

Like I've indicated previously, if you believe you are on a no-cap promo, then do not call. Wait until Amex tell you that you're capped or aren't on a promo.

Calling will only give them a possible chance to change the T&C's to something that you're not agreeable with. Retain all/any evidence that you were signed up before the 20th - that could include noting the time/date you called Amex, seeing bonus points posted or similar.

As an example, some phone bills will itemise calls to 1300x numbers.

Everything will come in handy if required...

Ok... Thought i might muddy up the waters and bump my post count up as its taken me four days to catch up with this thread!

I didnt get a postcard, however signed up for the original 20t/10k. then signed up for the 10t/5k, then the 5t/5k. I earnt 20,000 points until the 22nd (first points BP posted on 18th luckily so i know im uncapped) Then they stopped until the 7th when i got a "Group - POC Low engaged V2" appear on my statement and then they took away 15,000 points for some reason...

No letter, phone call etc. I am tempted to ring them up as i can prove that i was registered before the 20th but just dont want to go through all the rigmarole

You indicated that you had signed up for 3 Promos.

So IMO with being POC-ed Amex have now most likely restricted you to one promo and have stripped you of the points earned from the other two.
