10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

Ok... Thought i might muddy up the waters and bump my post count up as its taken me four days to catch up with this thread!

I didnt get a postcard, however signed up for the original 20t/10k. then signed up for the 10t/5k, then the 5t/5k. I earnt 20,000 points until the 22nd (first points BP posted on 18th luckily so i know im uncapped) Then they stopped until the 7th when i got a "Group - POC Low engaged V2" appear on my statement and then they took away 15,000 points for some reason...

No letter, phone call etc. I am tempted to ring them up as i can prove that i was registered before the 20th but just dont want to go through all the rigmarole

So I assume this means you had 10 transactions implying they have put you on the 5K/10T promo.

If they do this to me - I wont be happy...

I think earlier in the thread one forumite reported Amex telling him that Amex would put people (if not sent a postcard) on the promo that they would have been on if they had been sent a postcard (we presume this would be on a forumale based on spending patterns).

The "new" T&C for pre=Sep 20 registrants also now states:

Can I enrol in the promotion more than once?
No, only one registration is permitted per eligible Cardmember.

American Express will be tracking instances of multiple enrolments and for those cases identified your Membership Rewards account will be amended to reflect one enrolment.

I think it is also a fair surmise that people who were sent a postcard , but who registered for a "higher value" promo will be returned back to their postcarded invitation.

One would assume that if people were allowed to stay in the "wrong" promo...that Amex would have to also allow people to stay in multi-promtions if registered that one.

I guess the test will be...and I am no lawyer....is whether Amexe's general MR T&Cs allow them to "assign" people to particular promos, and to restrict them to only one promo if they registered pre-Sep 20.

The thing is that at the time there was no mention anywhere of only being able to register into 1 promotion early.

I registered for all 3 and received points from all three. This morning a stack of points had *vanished* (the point deposits still show) but no POC etc. I will be ringing them when this settles and i work out what promo they have placed me on.

If bonus points don't post for 8-10 weeks, then it may take a long time before you can "work out" which promo you are on.

I know... that is going to annoy me. I registered for the 20T/10k then 10T/5K and finally 5k/5k.

Based on the points that are left i'd say i'm now on the 10T/5K but of
course can't be certain. I'm tempted to call them, but will have to wait until next week.

signed up for the 5/5000 promo pre 19th Sept, only had one lot of 5000 points allocated before the freeze. had a reduction of 5000 today with no narrations, just noticable in the balance. no poc reference anywhere!

My MR account has updated with yesterdays transactions, but no mention of POC etc, just less points GGRR

Had about 20k points removed from my account (not entirely sure how many were removed because of new transactions entering). No entry in the transaction list that indicates why they were removed, and no note on the main page WRT to being POCed (I'm assuming that the POC note shows up on the summary page?)

Edit: MR has updated. 30k points removed and now a note: Group - POC Low engaged V2
Signed up pre-Sep 20th. First for 20/10, then 10/10, then 5/5.

Is your reduced points in multiples of 5000 or anything else obvious like that?

Just checked and 15,000 points have been taken off!!
they were there yesterday BUT NO MORE!!
5000 placed on 20/9, 5000 on 22/9, and 5000 on 23/9
Account reads,[10/10 Group-POC low engaged V2] can anyone
tell me what all this means?? apart from the points given then TAKEN!!

Well my POC message has appeared when I checked again. Oh well, have to wait another month or so and see whether they reappear along with the other 30000 points to end of September...

Sorry if I've missed it in the thousands of replies, but has anyone been able to sign up using the new code at http://americanexpress.com.au/myreward

It redirects to https://www99.americanexpress.com/m...ts&Face=en_AU&mronline=optin&offercode=reward

trying to enter "reward" into the bonus offer - however it says the offer is over. I though the initial offer was for signups until Dec 31, but they may have stopped all new signups, despite supplying a link.

Have a few other cards that I could sign up - (not looking to rort >10k points per month).

I suggest you read the latest T&C.https://www212.americanexpress.com/...RD&vanity=www.americanexpress.com.au/myreward

You can only sign up now IF you have a postcard with your name on it.

Only one Amex card per postcard will be accepted. Ni invitation now = no regsitration possible.

As you don't know what code..I assume that you do not have a postcard??

I *think* so. I didn't take a snapshot yesterday..

This is now in my MR account: Group - POC Low engaged V2. Has anyone worked out what's what?

Yes it is a multiple of 5000. but going on the points left I have been put on either the 10/5 or the 5/5.

Me thinks a call has to be made.

the only guys that have replied fully with poc'ing have signed to multiple awards.
many have reported no poc'ing on single award
I think it's pretty clear atm.

Given the time frame this is going on over, it can't be an automated process. Someone has been given a tedious job.

True, but what annoys me is that it said no where at the time that you couldn't. So Amex should lump it and leave the points and put you onto one promo. I'm going to call them shortly about it as i think i have worked out what they have done.
