Make sure you send the letters via registered post and request a delivery confirmation :)

And if you get a wiggle on you can pay for the registered post using Amex and have them effectively pay for it with bonus points, as I did each time :D

I sent my complaint via registered post to AMEX's PO Box - and have finally received my signed and dated Delivery Confirmation (10 days later, standard delivery times applied). It's a very good way to keep a paper trail...

Complaint letter written, will send by registered post tomorrow, will actually enjoy paying for that transaction with my Amex.

Min free for credit cards at AusPost is $10

They enforce this at all that I go to, although once I pretended to not have any cash and since I had written on the envelope they accept the $4 purchase :p

Ok just one more day of tx-ing now...and then the Promo-Part2 commences. That is actually getting the points owed to us by Amex.

To date to the best of my knowledge only those who were capped, or whom are light transactors, have had the complete quantity of owed points paid in terms of the T&C (ie by 10 weeks from when they were earnt).

However most people in this promo would seem to have Amex breaching the T&C in terms of points owed.

Various med to high tx-ors have indicated that points upto 50k per month are awarded, but then the supply stops.

Some (many now it would seem) like me have been sent a suspension letter and have an extra battle to get reinstated first. That it is a "form-letter" would seem to weaken Amex's stance and it's main purpose may well have just been a bluff by Amex to slow the tx rate which was most likely accelerating as Dec 31 approached.

IMO it is vital that everyone who has so far had Amex breech the T&C to them take action. If Amex are in default of the 10 week period I would suggest you put in writing to them a request to have the points owed. I would not rely on just phone calls. you need a paper trail.

If you have been sent a suspension letter then you definitely need to write to Amex justifying your position and asking them to precisely clarify theirs. You may also want to write to the BFSO now. In my case I have written to Amex and based upon their rely yet received I will look to write to the BFSO.

My 2 cents: Fax Christian Macutay, Executive Customer Services, on 02 9263 6084 and fax a copy to BFSO on 03 9613 6399.

Well, you can now add me to the list of people who've rung Amex.

CSR "We have a whole team working on this"

"It's been extremely successful and it's taking us time to credit the points"

"You'll get your points by January 31"

"You'll not miss out on any of the points"

The CSR sure sounded peeved that I was asking about mypoints. Big surprise really.

So, I'm not prepared to wait until Feb 1, as they've now given me a verbal commitment. Come Feb 1, I'll be escalating it higher.

Too late - I called and spoke to him ages ago. He advised to post to the address I posted here a long time ago.

I sent mine to Mark Lee in Executive Relations, which was the address that was listed by the FOS/BFSO. I should call Christian and ask him if he has the letter.

Although I haven't been sent any letters bumping me down to 10T/5K or suspending me at the moment at all.

In your circumstances that seems a reasonable course of action :p. Those of us who have been taken off two of the three promotions (including the one that is 100% better than the others) have that issue to fight as well and waiting to act can surely only do us more harm.

So why did you write to them ?

Well call me a skeptic...but seriously how could Amex let their CSR's make such open ended statements? I think it demonstrates again that one cannot 100% believe what one is told by a CSR.

Now I am not saying or even hinting that DocJames has breeched the T&C in anyway.....but without checking all of DocJames spend how can the CSR make either statement?

I mean Amex are either checking all spend, or they are not. If they are checking then no assertion should be given on either point.

Then again it could be a badly trained CSR trying to be helpful...;)

No complaint from me; we have garnered 150K MR points (already credited) from this promo and are quite content ...

Well I garnered a goodly number of points early on....so I am only partially content.

I will be quite content when all the points owed are awarded...;)

Whatever "owed" is ... I registered all my accounts for all three programs as they were posted.

Ostensibly, with the promotions I registered for, I would be due a lot more points but I am happy with my lot.

I am waiting for at least 1 of 2 purchases made today to post overnight on one card to make 100 for the month.

Those 150K points have a value to me of around $2,750, so I am content. (Especially since I never received a 'postcard'/'invitation'.

Well for me, "owed" is to receive all the points as per the postcard I received....the 5K for 5 one.

I too registered for all three...but will be content to just get points for the postcarded rate....and a rate that a letter dated Oct 20 confirmed I was on.
