So I'll ask you, how did you do 440 transactions in September with only 10 odd days??? your figures don't even add up.

440 tx in ten days without attracting the attention of the Amex bonus police would be quite a task.

Nah :!:

Reading posts from rodgerbranch brings humour to my day

Ditto... :lol::lol:

Plus, can't have any new members or guests who havent read through the preceeding few thousand posts thinking Mr Branch is the real deal

Why on earth would someone redeem for a Sony Plasma from the Amex store, QFF store or Velocity store? Just redeem for vouchers and "buy" it using the vouchers. I'm sure it'll cost you less points.

Ok the "best" LCD that you can "buy" through Amex is the Samsung LA37A450 37" LCD Television for 153,200 points. Buying that online using "cash" would be around $1,200. A $1000 voucher for DJ's is around 115000 points and a $250 card is 32,500 points for a total of 147,500 points.

Personally I would take the cash and get a brand that I want rather than be restricted to a samsung (it used to be Panasonic).

I will most likely be cashing in around 160K points to halve the cost of a new iMac at DJ's with the balance being funded through DJ's interest free option.

Considering all 104 posts from him (as of this post), have been in this thread, I doubt anyone thinks that he is the real deal. It would be interesting to see what IP addresses he's been posting from, but I think only admin has access to that info.

Now that this thread is drawing near to its conclusion, I would like to congratulate Rodgerbranch on being the WINNER in the points race (that should shut him up!) and also nominate him for an award as the most diligent shopper amongst us. Others of you may wish to nominate him for other awards.

I would also like to propose a vote of thanks to him for the invaluable contribution (some 104 posts) that he has made to this thread.

Any seconders?

Don't all rush!

P.S. I wonder how many of his 1880 transactions were due to bill-splitting (blush!)

Thats great you earned your millions of points, but perhaps no need to shout it from the rooftops? Noone likes arrogance to that degree.

Sorry, i did ask the question of how many points people had earnt.

A side question.
Do Amex have a page which lists current points offers or credit card offers so i can keep it bookmarked.
Hopefully this might help prevent me from missing out on future deals like this (not that i see something like this happening again)

We're close to the 5000 posts point, after about 5 months.

jingles, the only public page is this one. Most decent promos will get mentioned here and/or any of the bargain centric sites.

Here we go again, some people really need to be spoon-fed all the information to the very minor detail for them to understand.
Yep, spoon feeding with detailed information is the normal process.
You can get pretty much anything you want from the QFF Store. Some of the most convenient things are Gift vouchers. Get a Wish Card, or Harvey Norman, or D*ckSmith…. Then get the Plasma
Please spoon-feed me the process you used to get your Sony Plasma this way? Which of those gift cards you identified and which retailer did you use? I know I am dumb and need to be spoon-fed, but I am having difficulty understanding  as there seems to be some minor detail missing .

If RodgerBranch screenshots were anything to go by, then he has a Qantas direct card, so won't be redeeming anything from Amex, but has to use the QFF store instead.

Anyone able to post how many QFF points you need for a $1000 DJ voucher (if that is an option) or to buy a 32in cr4p brand TV so that we can do a comparison? The QFF store is blocked by my corporate web filters...

DJ vouchers are not available from QFF store. But a $1000 voucher from a similar retailer costs 135,000 QFF points. $1000 worth of Wish Cards would be (4 x $250/39,250 points) 157,000 QFF points.

No DJ voucher on QF site, but a Myer voucher is 135,000 for $1000

No David Jones (DJs) vouchers from QFF (QF), only from Virgin Blue (DJ).

$1000 Myer voucher is 135k. $500 Myer is 67.5k.
$500 Westfield is 78.5k. $250 Westfield is 39.25k.
$250 Wish Gift Card is 39.25k.
$250 Coles is 39.25k.
$250 Target is 39.25k.

Ok - close to 200K points then for the chance to buy a similar product - lukcy that RB had all those points to burn then.

I personally would value the opportunity to get the product I want rather than get a similar product more cheaply. I am definitely thinking thaat when Apple finally do their iMac refresh that I will be logging on to Amex pretty soon after to get my DJ vouchers :)
