Perhaps QF has truly learnt from their previous years' mistakes. One can only hope that it was an "enhancement" to their systems

They may not post the bonus SCs automatically but you can easily argue with customer care that you made a new booking regardless of when the gift voucher was created. I have done this successfully in the past.A quick question if I may - I currently have a 50% bonus SC offer available, if I use one of my Xmas vouchers to book a flight are these eligible for the bonus? Or are they treated like other vouchers and the booking dated from the voucher purchase date?

Thanks in advance
Absolutely. it's a revenue ticket so it should qualify.
The issue is that the vouchers have a created date on them. That makes the computer think the booking was created at that date, not when the actual flights are purchased. So using a voucher for a SC promo will require a phone call to present the case. When I've called in the past they initially said it doesn't qualify based on the voucher date then look further and see the booking date.
Qantas Vouchers said:The names of voucher recipients may be changed when you redeem the voucher.
oh. Duh @ me. Obvious and I didn't consider that. I was thinking of purchase of a voucher now, but the thread is of course about the (now) past promo. You're right of course
I am a little confused by the statement above. Has anyone done this successfully?
I want to book flights for another person and they will be travelling with me. I was hoping not to purchase new gift vouchers.
Possible?
OK thanks. I do not remember noticing that before.Absolutely, you can change names at the last step just before entering payment information.
No issues with points, still waiting on 6 residual vouchers from November.
I had no issues this year with residuals, because given last years hassles, I made sure I had vouchers that were always less then the fare. That does not let QF off the hook and no one would willingly say "keep the change" in these circumstances. They are in breach of their own self imposed contract terms and they certainly know how to enforce them when it suits them. I suggest a separate thread where those owed residual vouchers can collectively apply pressure on QF for a resolution, and if it is not achieved follow it up with a collective complaint to the Airline Customer Advocate or a Fair Trading Department office. We all want to play fair and be nice but if the QF response is to simply ignore it and hope it goes away - then more drastic action is needed. No issues with points, still waiting on 6 residual vouchers from November.
You wouldn't do it if they have installed Verint/Impact360 or something similar and employ people to do regular SQA reviews. In many call centres it is easy to pretend you're doing something while talking on the phone with a customer and then put the phone down and finish your Facebook post...
