The judge then read the whole judgement-

By the way thank you for putting forward reasoned arguments <redacted>

That's clearly an extract from commentary on the judgment.

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

The point is not whether everyone from the 7 countries is a nice person. People are a mixed bag, wherever they're from.
Trump's argument is that the ban is necessary to protect Americans from further terrorist attacks which he alleges will happen in America if citizens of these countries are permitted to enter.
Based on an assertion that people from these 7 countries have been the perpetrators of such attacks in the past.
That argument doesn't hold up because no such attacks have occurred.

I don't think that's a fair or balanced representation of what's been going on at all. The rationale behind the temporary ban was (a) because those countries are known to have significant terrorist activity and political instability and (partially) as a result (b) they are all incapable at the moment of providing any, or sufficient, reliable documentation and other information proving the identity and bona fides of people who may want to travel from them to the USA. The ban was not based on "an assertion that people from those 7 countries have been the perpetrators of such attacks in the past" as you assert, and the pursuit of that line of argument is erroneous and misleading. Note my bolding of the word "based".

Three words: "Bowling Green Massacre".

Want to put money on it?
No that would be unfair-

So the "72 terrorists" claim is understood to be bull****, right? Good. Now we can deal with the argument that targeting people who come/came from those 7 countries will make the US safer. Well past history of actual terrorist activity in the US would indicate that they are very misguided, so it is mainly for show and I think to distract everyone from Trump's foreign policy disasters (of which there have been many).

And to top it all off the move is borderline enough to be questionable under constitutional law. Have they been getting legal advice from Brandis???

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Oh and Michael Flynn has just resigned because he has been exposed as a traitor who was dealing with the Russians and deceived VP Pence about it.

Up till now the reality has been that Americans have much more to fear from home grown christian fundamentalist terrorists and nuts with guns than from muslim terrorists.
Now they have more to fear from the Mango Mussolini in the White House, his sinister white supremacist adviser and their supporting cast of idiots such as Conway and Miller.
This sad pack of clowns would be hilarious if they weren't so dangerous.

Your attempt to draw moral equivalence between Christianity and al Qaeda shows how absurdly defective your moral compass is. How many Christians are attempting to turn airliners into missiles and plotting attacks on kosher stores?

Well, I'm old enough to be remember the terror of IRA.

Which really means that religious extremism isn't limited to Islam.

and shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no one mention the Crusades, nor the Spanish Inquisition (except the Cardinal Biggles version with the dreaded comfy pillow).

And as for those Protestants...I mean whoever heard of the KKK, whose members swear to uphold Christian morality, and their dislike of Catholics, Jews and Blacks.. . Burning Cross? Surely just because no one had a lamp
handy.....rather than a religious reference.

There are all sorts of evil nuts who use religion as an excuse to justify their evil acts. I doubt that any of them are truly religious in their hearts though.

Or even blow up buildings such as the Alfred P Murrah building in Oklahoma?

That was domestic terrorism by Christian extremists.

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Have we mentioned that extremist idiot in OSL who murdered was it 80 people? Mostly young. He's changed his religion a few times. I think the latest was to naz_sm. He keeps complaining that he is being inhumanely treated. Which brings us to the naz_s.

Or even blow up buildings such as the Alfred P Murrah building in Oklahoma?

What attempt?
I drew no such moral equivalence. I could draw it, but I didn't.
I pointed to a simple fact: within America, more Americans have died in terrorist attacks by white, christian terrorists than in terrorist attacks by arab and/or muslim terrorists.
That is irrefutable.

As to your question about how many christians are plotting attacks on kosher stores, I suggest you google "kristalnacht".
The last lot of naz_s were christians, too.

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

LOL, doesn't bringing up the naz_s automatically mean you lose the argument - Godwin's Law...

And a bit on the desperate side when you have to go back to the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition... ;)

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Au contraire, 6 million deaths can't be written off with a simple statement such as that. And, no "LOL".

And, Anders Behring Breivik was in 20111. That's pretty recent.
