2023 Hilton Status Retention

It is actually a no brainer for Hilton ...because I will now retain Diamond for another year I have just booked 8 nights over 4 stays in Europe later this year....having guaranteed access to the Executive lounge and free breakfast to offset food costs did not sway my decision at all
I also arrive at 0630am in one city and would get to the hotel by 9am...without Diamond status. I wouldn't even dare ask for an early checkin.

Yes, for existing Diamonds who didn’t requal’d - it’s a no brainer.

For Gold dropping to Silver, there’s potentially a range of options.

The T's and C's do not explicitly state that you need to get an email. The wording is "must have received this offer directly from Hilton Honors". I would make the argument that I have received the offer directly from HH by logging into my account and seeing it as an 'active offer'.

Yeah, I’ve not managed to find a direct link to that from Hilton website, but this link from the earlier LL article should work?

Log in then hover over your name on the top right of the page and go to account. Then at the bottom of the page on the right there will be "see more offers" just under members get more.

Alas, that doesn’t work on tablets or phones - well not iOS ones. But I must check that on my PC in due course.

The T&Cs were updated to show it's until March 31 2024, but anything could happen! If I was doing this, I'd make my [only] stay in the promo period for the 30th or 31st March, so the extension might occur after status has dropped... and that the attain logic might work as usual to give current year + the next. Only time, and examples, will tell!

I suspect that one will catch up soon although the criteria (nights/stays) could get revised also.

Given I'm still trying to resolve my rollover nights from 2022 to 2023 (so why should I bother if I can hammer IHG Diamond all year and I get a 2-year Hilton Diamond extension in in Jan 2024 by staying 1 night?). Makes no sense...

Agreed, I feel I a touch of anger that i earnt Diamond legitimately and others are gifted it it for 2 years with a 1 night stay especially as many that will receive the extension have no real plans to stay anywhere near enough.

Unsure what you mean? How would someone get angry because someone else got something that they already have? If you've already earned diamond why would you be concerned if/how others have also earned diamond?

Because if I have spent $20-30k doing the right thing and others deliberately don’t do the right thing and end up with the same it’s pretty disappointing and leads me to thinking why should I bother. Those who have earned it the right way are getting nothing and I feel that because of our loyalty we should get an extra year thrown in as a thanks
