Can anyone tell me how long it took for the confirmation email to arrive after selecting the benefit? I just spotted that the Westpac card has to be applied for by the 30th (tomorrow) but I haven’t received a confirmation email.

Took a three or four days for me. I did apply 5 min after regestering however, and I did got the bonus 30k already. Seems like the confirmation email is not critical, if everything works as expected.

Almost immediately I got the confirmation email. It also showed up straight away in my Velocity dashboard on the credit card promotion page that I'd selected a benefit. If same for you, suggest you take a screenshot.

I selected the benefit 6 weeks ago and still no email, but the confirmation appeared instantly on my velocity.
I'm assuming there was some issue with the emailing at the start and I'll still qualify. I applied for a card and have made the minimum spend, will see what happens when the points transfer over.

How long do the bonus status credits or points take to transfer - I'm guessing after the first statement period?

So for this card and the signup points, $1500 per statement is required. Does this card has a standard statement period for everyone (i.e. a full month?) or does the statement start on the day of approval, activation, first spend?

I would need to know to make sure I can schedule some expenses correctly to help hit the threshold, accross mine and Mrs ChrisMars card.
This is what I'm unsure of at the moment, yet to get my first statement. Does the $1500/month mean per statement, or per calendar month since approval/card activation.

My card was activated on 12/03/2023 , have easily spent $1500 already. But I now want to make sure the next $1500 goes to the 'next' period. I have not yet received the 1st statement yet.

Is the Virgin Flyer Card statement period the same for everyone (e.g. a fixed calendar date like 01/04/2023 - 01/05/2023) or the month is relative to the activation date (e.g. for my case 12/03/2023 - 12/04/2023)?

Basically trying to figure out when to start spending on it again.

my card was approved on late Mar23 and after a week I received my first statement. I do think the minimum monthly spend is calendar month.

Per statement, not calendar month.

At least that's how it has worked for me during the first 3 months of this card -- approved late Dec, first statement exactly one month from approval; received bonus points having spent the $1500 split across Dec and Jan, within the statement month (but not having spent $1500 within either calendar month).

Just confirming it is per statement, got the 1st statement yesterday with both the 25k points and the 250SC. Was surprised to see the SC in the first statement, would have thought they would wait until the last one.

My statement arrived about 10 days after my card was approved and I havent' made the the full $1,500 spend requirement in those 10 days, not sure if I've missed the bonus

Ugh, my first 25k for the Virgin Money Flyer card was 'Rejected' on transfer because my whole name was in the Surname field on Virgin's end and First Name was empty, so it was a name mismatch.
Lovely lady on the phone fixed it up and assured me I'll get the points next cycle. I honestly can't remember whether I was asked for my name or not when applying, but when I set the card up I checked the Velocity details on the Rewards portal and everything looked fine....

The wait to see if I get the 30k continues. (I never received the confirmation email, but benefit was selected on my account)

Similar situation. Apologies for the slightly lengthy story

I applied for the Virgin Money Flyer Card and got declined instantly, I then realized I had put the incorrect amount of the Home Loan. I called them up and they asked for me to email through a reassessment request with a payslip and the details. Did that but then within an hour got a reply saying still no go, it almost felt like an autoreply to be honest.

Fast forward 2 weeks and I got a call from Virgin Money saying they received my email about reassessment and want to get all the expense and income details again to verify etc. Next day received an email saying card application was being processed and to send through payslip,ID, medicare.

2 days later card got approved and received email explaining the card will arrive in next 5-10 days. In the mean time while waiting for the card i received an email from Velocity this time saying congratulations on ur new velocity account please click here to activate your new velocity account(this despite me providing my existing velocity account details on the original application.

I called up Virgin Money and they confirmed that my existing velocity number is linked and all ok, but when the card arrived i logged into the Virgin Money Account and under "reward" the Velocity number was the new one that had been created and not mine, and also the name was something along the lines of Surname,Mr,J. I have now updated this to the correct information and hope there are no issues when statement time comes and points come through. I'm also skeptical with the extra 30,000 bonus points now as potentially they may have approved the card under the new velocity account and not my current one.

If you have recently applied for this card, definitely worth double checking all your details match

I would recommend calling Virgin Money.

My name showed as my correct name, in the right order, in the rewards portal when the unsuccessful transfer occured.
After fixing it my name now shows as Surname, Mr, Name. She said on her end there are First Name, Surname, and title fields.

I think you'll be in the exact same position as me if you leave it as is.

I am another one scratching my head trying to figure out the Virgin Money statement cycle... They sent me my first statement on March 11th (pretty much the day the account was opened) and then nothing since. Wondering if it will the end of April?

I had the opposite problem and it was both funny and stupid at the same time.

In my Virgin Money account, under Rewards & Offers there's a modify details button. I clicked on this and was alarmed that the name value was in the format "LAST ,FIRST ,Mr". Called support and told them it doesn't match my Velocity account, should I change it so it is 'FIRST LAST'. They said yeah you probably should, so I did.

Come my first statement in March, the portal said my points transfer was rejected. I called up and they said it was in the wrong format. What they see seems to be quite different to the one name field we see. She fixed it up (back to what it was) and said the points will transfer in the next cycle. I wasn't too happy about that delay so I asked if it could be done manually, but did wonder later if this would cause another unintended effect.

She said she would escalate it to a different team and it would take a few days. I chased up over the next week and the manual transfer did indeed take effect, so I was relieved. The icing on the cake was that it also triggered the 30k velocity bonus at the same time!

I got approved for Citi Prestige and a day or two later I got a statement for 1 day (from 2nd March to 2nd March) with $0 owing. On the 4th April I got a normal statement for 3rd March to 2nd April.

Similar thing happens with Virgin Money: got a statement for 1 day 23rd March to 23rd March for $0. I think the next statement will be about 24th or 25th April (holiday so might be 26th).

I think first statement is issued once activation is done, not really a statement.

Just applied for the Virgin Money Flyer CC
I can't see in anything in the Terms & Conditions regarding eligibility for bonus. Normally there's a paragraph that outlines eligibility in relation to previously held points earning cards. I've scanned the Things You Should Know as well as the Velocity Rewards CC T&C's PDF

I'm guessing it's 12 months as that's the most common one, so that's what I'll put in my churning spreadsheet.

Got my statement, my 250 bonus status credit and 25K points all on 24th (yesterday). Look like my Virgin Gold is sorted for another year, time to revert back Qantas Gold which is a bit harder.

BTW I flew over to Sydney and back to Perth via Melbourne one way (Virgin) and Brisbane the other (Qantas) both for status run and family commitment. I have to say Priority Plus food is way better than food from these Virgin and Qantas lounges. I am seriously considering hanging on to my Citi Prestige (only 1+ month old at the moment)

I believe there is no defined exclusion period . You are likely to get rejected if you reapply within a short period though .
