I am in similar situ but will make it easily next month... I just feel at this point Qantas should be rounding up....
5 status credits short for platinum renewal... any chance of Qantas 'gifting' those?

It's not unknown for The Big Red Roo to accomplish such feats of donating a missing 5 SC. But asking can not harm you. There is a department official I had spoken to previously whose sole purpose is to assess you in totality as a frequent Flyer. And the chances of flying vigoursly in the next 12 months.
