Surely AA would be able to see that our accounts are registered to an Australian address? Thus not award the miles... ?

You can change them in your setting to Manual Renewal. I did for the one I ordered.

Sign in to your account > Manage Subscriptions > Edit Information > Finally click the EDIT button (Kind of hidden next to the Subscription Information tab > Change to Manual

I hope this helps

This. And delete your CC info.

I think people are over thinking the auto-renewal thing. I ordered magazines from magazines.com a long time ago through UR. They all are set for auto-renewal (until you change them) but the points posted without a problem. I really think the clause is intended to make it clear that you get points ONCE - not every time the magazine auto-renews.

The magazine subscriptions themselves are very cheap but what would be the approximate cost of having them forwarded to Australia by My US?

I tried real address (my sister's) !!

My guess is the CC itself.

It also declined PayPal stating that "non-US PayPal is not accepted"

So, no go from me !

Has anyone been successful in placing an order?

How and why would having an Australian address be a problem ?
I can't see it written anywhere that you have to be a US resident to be eligible for this promo ?

There was something about being a us resident earlier in this thread I think.

Can't find as on mobile but maybe 2st page??

There is a restriction on the merchants site, probably due to censorship etc.

if you go 11 x better homes and gardens subscriptions + 7 travel and leisure subscriptions you can get fairly close at $250.04..

not bad for 17500 points!

Is the wording explicit ?
Any way around it ?
Does the merchant (magazines.com) know our AA membership details ?
Maybe if we just put our address as the one you posted from FT and our CC postcode as any valid US zip code then we are good to go ?

I've just pulled the trigger and ordered $254 of magazines including a digital edition of something I'll read.

I PDF'd the order confirmation screen in case I need to follow up. Fingers crossed the miles post.

Me too... Just placed an order for $250.04.... order didn't want to go through with amex plat charge... but anz plat amex worked!

That poor lady is going to end up with pallets of magazines rocking up!

Anybody else going to take a chance and hit this promo 10 times.... Verrrrryyy tempted to try score 140k AA points for $2k...

It's not just the merchant.

Any tips on what you bought?

Just looking through AA portal now, I buy a fair bit of stuff from Nordstrom/Landsend etc spewing I haven't used this before. Will be sure to use for Blackfriday/Cybermonday however!

Edit: Saw your post on the previous page!

An update.

It appears my order has been cancelled without explanation. It could be they saw the delivery address for one lot (the FT poster) and/or saw the IP address was not in the US.

Oh well, easy come, easy go.

I ordered yesterday, confirmed email by 9am. How did you get informed that your order was cancelled?
