Don't worry, Qantas isn't alone in that regard. In the past 12 months I've had bags lost by Air France, Royal Air Maroc, Alaska Airlines and American Airlines.As much as I'd like to post this in a Qantas thread, I think it really does belong here:

.. or not check it! I usually don't, but had some items that weren't able to be carried on so no choice. It's a good reminder as to why ....... oh, and I do have a new bag now, because Alaska broke it on the way over An expensive Delsey bag replaced with a generic American piece of rubbish ...... but hey, pick your battles! At least I got it back and have a bag that's all in one piece.Perhaps its time to by a new bag
Hey, I have a few american bags, usually because I have bought too much stuff, and they stand out going around the carousel !! But they last just as long as the expensive brands.. or not check it! I usually don't, but had some items that weren't able to be carried on so no choice. It weighs a tonne though and is clunky to move around..... and it's boring black, that's all they had!
