Obviously you do not want to know the truth. He did not use a comcar to go to the Central coast-the groom provided a limo and it is documented.
I always wondered why Medhead didn't understand my posts. Now I know the truth.
I also thought this misrepresentation by him was a personal attack on me.Now I know it is just ignorance.

Instead of believing the BS out fo your mouth I believe the words from the horse's mouth. You've attacked me on the basis of your own ignorant opinion. The only truth around he is you and the other bullies will say anything to deny my right to express my opinion. Even when the truth supports my opinion, you just make up cough to attack me. This is typical of the disgusting behaviour of the liberal supporters in this thread. You certainly can't handle deserved criticism of the objects of your love and you have no problem sinking to any depth to attack anyone that dares point out their faults.

Acting opposition leader Chris Bowen lashes Attorney-General George Brandis as 'a hypocrite'

Responding to his alleged role in the expenses scandal, Mr Joyce said that he did not claim for the hotel or any flights to the wedding.

He said that he was in Sydney for a media appearance on a radio show, then took a Comcar to the central coast hotel where he was staying for the wedding. The next day he returned to Sydney and flew to Moree for work.

''I never claimed a Comcar from the hotel to the wedding. I never claimed for the hotel or airfares,'' Mr Joyce said. ''I'm happy to reimburse costs related to any ambiguity.''

I am sorry if you think I have attacked you medhead.Personally I believe you have personally attacked me on many occasions including the last few days with bully, ignorant, mock outrage and complete cough coming out of my mouth amongst others. If your definition of bully is right you are one yourself.
Now to Barnaby-that is what he said initially to a Fairfax reporter who caught him whilst driving. After checking his records he realised Michael Smith had organised his car and Michael Smith has confirmed this releasing emails to the limousine service he used to transport Mr.Joyce and Senator Brandis to the Central coast. So what I say is far from cough.
Just because I have different views from you doesn't by itself make my views wrong and yours right. It is even possible for both our views to be reasonable.

I have deleted a few posts which were off topic.

I realise this is a political forum so do expect things to get a bit "heated" from time to time. I ask again that everyone who posts in this thread stick to the topic and avoid getting personal.

I really don't want for us to start taking action against anyone in this non-travel thread in the Playground...

You posts over the last few days contain a whole series of character assassination against me, along with the rest of the gang of 6. This has been the mode of operation in this thread against me from day one. This is why you and your mates are on my ignore list. You have continued this behaviour even in this post. It is clear that you and your mates are incapable of of sticking to the facts and topic without personally attacking me. This much is clear from day one of this thread.

You called me ignorant in repeating what Joyce said, and back up your accusation with your words alone.

Its good to see Brandis and Joyce backflip and repay the taxpayer they spent attending a private wedding reception. Too bad they only backflipped after media coverage in recent days.

For DRRON's benefit:

My first post in thread.

Michael Kroger waxing lyrical on qanda about how the economy can't stand for them to reduce the debt any quicker that the old government planned to do. WTF? After 3 years of Abbott demanding that the ALP do exactly that? What a mob of hypocritical liars!

Oh and they're going to increase jobs at the natural grow rate. Gee, that'll be a challenge.

Response is an attack not on my opinion but on my right to express my opinion.

Nice to see you're giving them a chance though 

Then there was the question I asked in order to understand a situation. You will notice there is absolutely no accusation in this post.

Perhaps only tangentially related to Abbott in government. Have people seen that Peta Credlin one of his staff faced court on drink driving charges. But how is it possible for someone to blow 0.075, over the alcohol driving limit, and then have the charges dismissed by the magistrate? The news story is talk about no conviction, but I assume dismissing charges means no case to answer at all. :?:

That was eventually answered with a post that accused me of deliberately failing to acknowledge the source of a good idea.

That would be me medhead. Interesting that you only attribute things to me when you disagree with them.

As far as the drink driving, she plead guilty so she was prepared to do whatever the judge/magistrate required. Her record was impeccable, gainfully employed so unless you are accusing the judiciary of preferential treatment then the case is over really.

Followed up with further questioning of my motivation, just because I failed to remember that someone had a good suggestion.

Ah. Do you have an iPhone btw? You didn't need to requote but you seem well versed usually in dragging out things I post weeks ago. Must be the stress of a coalition government getting to you.

By the way, if there are no charges then you can't plead guilty. You don't even go to court. The charges were later dismissed but they did exist.

Thanks to other information provided I found the answer to my question.

Thanks. tracked it down. Crimes (sentencing) Act 2005 (ACT)

Section 17 allows for a non-conviction order with only nominal punishment. The court can consider a number of factors. In this case it seems that offender's character and seriousness of the offence apply. I'll avoid further discussion other than to say the character of the offender does not outweigh the seriousness of drink driving. Of course, this case highlights my belief in justice and support for the marginalised sections of our society. Even if I have to pay for my own private health insurance.

However, that wasn't good enough for some and there was more attacks over not acknowledging someone. All the posts accusing me of making a a political issue about the the drink driving charge, rather than trying to understand the situation, seem to have been deleted.

Only when you don't agree with me. ;)

Then there was my suggestion that I want ministers to be at peak performance. Also as a question about how a standard room could be an impediment to performing ministerial duties. Apparently that was bizarre and silly. But the

This is just bizarre. Who are we to say how the Foreign Minister - who hasn't even taken office yet - should work and sleep and spend her hours before nodding off? Who and how she entertains visitors is none of our business. I'm sure that she - like most recent Foreign Ministers - will do her job as she sees fit.

If she wants to save money, that is fine by me.

Then there is this personal attack on me and not address my opinion. Not to mention the final disgusting accusation and name calling.

Maybe Julie Bishop is not a precious young thing and can adapt her work preference to make best use of the resources she sees appropriate.

Really medhead, if she was travelling first class and staying in a really expensive suite, you'd be banging on about how their pre election promises of cutting costs were just a falsehood.

Can't win with some no matter what she does. Haters going to hate. Period.

This misrepresentation of my opinion and question.

My beloved Liberal party? Hardly.

Who am I and who are you to tell the Foreign Minister how to do their job? Seriously.

Following by the misrepresentation that I was accusing someone of fraud. Not to mention the personal attack that I was maintaining the rage for women. Disgusting. That post has disappeared but the echos remain.

This is just a silly discussion now. The electorate will decide if they do the job, just as it decided that labor didn't.

As far as debt goes, there is debt needed to build infrastructure and build an economy and then there is debt simply to pay the rent. To say that living on debt is a good thing is just simplistic. And if you are a company and you are doing the latter, then the annual returns you are required to sign each year means that you are committing corporate fraud.

Then you chimed in with this personal attack DRRON.

Yes there is a parallel universe.
Amazing the number of experts on Liberal Party parliamentarians.

So you think this is the post where you think I called you ignorant I guess.
In context you had recently posted that you do not read my posts anymore and then posted-
More bullying off topic comments I guess. Neither of these two seem bothered about addressing the topic. They just seem obsessed with making personal attacks on me.

You're replying to one of the fanatics. Contempt is reserved for those who turn to personal attacks instead of posting about the topic.

So accusing me of bullying posts when you admitted to not reading them hence ignorance of what those posts contained not calling you ignorant-a very big difference.

I gotta say that post #508 (ante Admin's deletions) is a magnificent construction. Must have taken ages and ages to put together. Well done, that author.

Speaking of "Abbott in government", anyone heard this joke - one of the better current ones I think. "Why is Abbott's cabinet like his time at the seminary? There are 19 men and one Bishop." ROFL :)

But back to me. Last post was :

I note the following on this thread (my emphasis).

Bullying involves a while heap of personal comments. Like what you did while not bothering to address the topic. And like the gang of 6 bullies do in telling me what to post and making snide comments, just like yours here, about getting over it. I'm certainly using it in the tradition sense of the word. You lot don't agree with my opinion and you launch into a feeding frenzy of personal comments about me. You are a disgusting, pathetic mob of bullies in the normal sense of the word. You have just continued it now.

So now I'm confused - what part of my comment wasn't about "Abbott in government" and what part of your was?

"Abbott in government" - good.

"Abbott in Government" - Privatise Tim Flannery :) Done.

"Abbott in Government" - sell the ABC. OK, you couldn't sell it. Cut our losses - "Give away the ABC." No, that won't work either ... pay some-one to take it over. Preferably Rupert Murdoch. Andrew Bolt for ABC CEO.

Just listening to 7:30 now. Whining about Abbott, Morrison & co not appearing. Love it!

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

I think we might have to agree to disagree on what constitutes a 'rort'.

I'll just point out that if your definition requires it to fall outside the rules, then people in power can make the most outrageously one-sided and beneficial deals and not be rorting the system, because they have the power to simply changes the rules in their favour.

Yes.. It is called democracy. If the majority agree in Parliament, within the Constitution then it becomes law. It can be challenged in the courts or they can be judged at elections.
Some politicians will push the envelope as much as they can, we just have to hope all the checks and balances work. Obviously, sometimes they don't.

I do wish Kim Beazley would return from Washington. Labor needs a leader and the two who are campaigning are both pretty ordinary.
It is time for clever for Labor. Trade Carr for Beazley as a start.

Geez the ALP fanbois are really getting mad over Abbott

Not just in this forum but on a few others I post in

Why so mad ?

If Abbott is so bad, he'll be booted out in 3 years

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Grand final time and supporters barrack for their teams. They might not be a member of that team, but still they give their whole hearts and anyone supporting the opposing side is a liar and a fool.

I dont care care a real lot for sports and it's sad to see the same sort of behaviour here in a forum I love. Politicians nowadays are all a bit self-serving, a bit brutal, a bit rude, a bit hard to understand. Regardless of party, the successful ones have to give up some of themselves to succeed.

And when they unload too much normality, they become out of touch with those whose support they need most. I do wish that otherwise sane and amiable people here would pause for thought before deciding to tread that same one-eyed path. It only encourages more of the same.

Either way I do not see a place for this discussion on AFF.

It detracts from what people want to post on the website as a result of their political views.

I think Kim's day is past, and Labor is stuck with what they have. The wreckage caused by Rudd.

Kimbo is one of my political heroes - as is Carr - and I cannot help but regret that neither of them got a run as PM. Regardless of party, having a leader who can look beyond their own interests, or their own faction, is a great thing.

Rudd, and Keating before him, may have seen themselves as big picture men, but really they just wanted a bigger role for themselves. They wanted to make their mark on history, to do great things in their own name.

And here we see the bitter irony. Rudd worked long and hard, spending billions along the way, to get a place on the UN Security Council. He wanted that for himself, and here he is, a lonely figure on the streets of Manhattan attending some minor backroom interest group while Julie Bishop glows in the spotlight.

Albo and Shorten have to pick up the pieces of Rudd's ego. It cannot be an easy task, just as Beazley had to do the same after Keating was rejected in 1996. Neither are half the man Beazley was and is, and I don't mean that in a physical way.

Albanese is too much the politician. He would spin anything away from the truth, and it shows. Shorten, I like as a person, but he is too much the union man in these days when unions don't matter much. His day may come, but he'll have to grow, to rise above the union boss he was. We'll see.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Oh I am sure the Liberal fanboi's have an answer for this!
Brandis, Joyce may face probe over travel expense claims
Corrupt before they even took government!
I wonder how this would have swung the election?
If Tony Abbott is a real leader will he sack them both?
Interesting timing on this. Why didn't it come out before the election? A nice little stick of dynamite, would have saved Labor a few votes, and a few seats. My guess is that two can play this game and some of the Labor figures are going to look a lot worse when all the facts come out.

All this happened two years back - when Labor was pulling the strings - and all the expenses and travel and accommodation were scrutinised and approved at the time. Why wasn't a fuss made then?

I am sure that if there was any wrongdoing, it will come to light. Charges laid and so on. At the moment all of us have nothing but media reports to go by, and as we are seeing, some of the initial wild claims are being exposed as untrue.

What it does expose is the fact that for all sides of politics these perks are huge. Staff and family share in the fun as we jet these people around the nation, and around the world. As others have noted, some of the retiring Labor figures went off on international "study" trips in the break before the election. What possible benefit was it to the nation to have these lame ducks take a first class trip to study how the Germans pour their beer and the Americans barbecue their ribs?

I tend to agree. This forum is no place for acrimony and party political tub-thumping.

If Abbott is so bad, he'll be booted out in 3 years
As we have seen, being PM is no guarantee of security. If Abbott proves a dudd, his own party will pull the trigger. Then again, he's led the Libs since 2009, taking them from the depths to the current heights. He's plainly got something going for him where the other teams have fallen apart.

But that's behind us and he's holding the reins now. With some big questions to answer. We'll see how he does.
