Accor - Platinum Benefits?

jsoprano - I have stayed at the Pullman in Brisbane a few times - always get an upgrade, exec lounge, bottle of wine in room etc. They are wonderful!

Agree, have also stayed twice in Jan on two different stays, both times well looked after, exec lounge access, drink vouchers, bottle of wine, room upgrade, my choice in Bris if the price is right.

The Pullman in Auckland was also good, similar benefits for Plats as above.

Would prefer HSP to Sofitel Broadbeach in my opinion, but having not stayed at Sofitel GC it does look nice from the Accor website, so might give it a shot one day if the price is right

Has anyone stayed at the Novotel - Melbourne on Collins St - and if so do they have an exec lounge?

Novotel Glen Waverley Melbourne as a Platinum last wk.
Benefit received was a free drink at bar (the drink chit noted "exclusive benefit for silver, gold & platinum accorhotels members").
They also date the chit on the day of your arrival and you must use it that day.
And that was it.

Pullman Brisbane 1:30am today. I called the front desk while in transit and was asked if I wanted the Mecure or Pullman hotel. I advised I was WP and asked for the rack rate for both hotels. I was advised $169 was the Mecure rate however I would be upgraded to the Pullman. Check in was smooth and I'm on the 9th floor in a very large room, king bed, couch, desk chairs etc. Internet and exec lounge access with breakfast included. The online rate was $215 so Mr Brad Moreton assistant manager I salute you.

I have stayed at few Accor properties lately here are the Platinum benefits I have got
Upgrade plus 2 welcome drinks - Mercure Grosvenor Adelaide, Mount Lofty House M Gallery, Novotel Barossa Valley, Novotel Parramatta, The Sebel Kirkton Park, The Sebel Surry Hills, Novotel Kamala Beach coughet, Mercure Sydney Airport. M Gallery The Rocks Sydney, The Sebel Hawkesbury Valley.
Upgrade plus executive floor privilages - Pullman Hyde Park, Novotel Kuala Lumpur both are great value
Pullman coughet - no upgrade all Pool villa were booked GM said he would try to upgrade next time. They offer 2 coughtail hours with GM on Tue and Thur which was good.
You need to push a lot of check in staff to supply above it is what your entitled to so ask for Manager if not forth coming. Regarding Sofitels in Aust if they are not willing to supply executive privilages don't go there use the Pullmans which do they will soon get the message. Hope this helps.

I have stayed at Novotel Rockford twice rate it as the worst Accor hotel I have stayed in will never stay there again Staff are the worst.

Thanks for the feedback, I have Pullman Hyde Park on the radar for later in the year, and possibly a trip to Pullman coughet (is that the new Pullman with the ocean views set into the hills?) in 2015 all going well.

Agree with comments on the Pullman chain, I too have had good service and benefits as Accor Plat.

Pullman Hyde Park is great.
Pullman in coughet is a bit out of the way so if I was going to coughet for say 7 days I would stay at M Gallery B Lay Tong for 4 nights its near Patong and 3 nights at Pullman Arcadia? I think that's what it is called more relaxed and near airport for departure.

Pullman Brisbane is one of the great hotels with some of the most epic service I have ever received. Pullman Hyde Park is beautiful, well placed, but I find the service hit and miss. Most of my friends are blown away though.

Sofitel gold coast is just white, ultra modern, and you can see the Novotel in it. Id avoid personally.

Burnt our free night cert at MGalleries Loura (former Pepper's). Location is amazing. Internally the property is looking a little tired and front desk service was pretty ordinary. Pool and spa were ok. Reasonable kids play rooms. Food is decent and very cheap at 50% discount. Overall an excellent place for a weekend away with the kids.

Quick report from my stay at Pullman King George Square Brisbane this week:

Booked the cheapest room category with prepaid rate. Arrived at the hotel, checked in, lady at the counter didn't say anything about Platinum benefits, just handed me the keys to the room (1164), advised me of breakfast times at the restaurant, and sent me off. Great I thought, bad luck this time... Arrived at the room and realised they upgraded me to a Spa Suite, with separate living room, bedroom, huge bath. Complimentary bottle of red and complimentary water. Great! Also access to Executive Lounge after I enquired at Reception again later that night.

Awesome stay, will be back.

Staying there tonight; fingers crossed for similar treatment!

Well that was a let down. No upgrade, no info about the exec lounge or restaurant breakfast, nor wifi. Took a phone call from our 'booking assistant' to be offered a free bottle of wine, which failed to appear by the time we got back from dinner. Had to call and ask for it. Only option offered for breakfast was the lounge. Also had to ask for free internet access.

Sometimes it is our duty to pleasantly educate hotel staff in the nuances of frequent status programs and the status based benefits.;)
I just hate being that person that keeps pestering, even if it's for something I'm entitled to.

+1... Having to ask makes it less enjoyable. But sometimes if you want or need the particular benefit you have no other option than to ask / politely remind.
