Accor Plus Membership Discussion

What happens with my 20 status nights bonus if I join Accor Plus at the end of the year in December? I'm planing to travel in Asia from December on and I'm planing on getting platinum.

I won't be able to make the 40 nights in December. Would I loose the 20 nights on New Year's Eve?
Would I be better off if I buy the All Plus membership in January?

...but you'll get another of those 20 added back on in Dec next year when you renew, and from the earlier discussions in this thread that will then give you the opportunity to lock in whatever status you get to next year for the next two years after that (following year, and then up to next Accor+ renewal).

So, depends on whether you have a short term or long term focus really... I'm pretty much in the same situation as you and are planning to get Accor plus in Nov/Dec this year - at best, I'll get to gold before it resets in Jan, but that's ok - next year I shouldn't have any trouble getting to platinum (probably not until I get those 20 days at renewal date though)

I kept the email. Nothing to do with Points Club. There was also something about staying for two nights in a row, but I forget where I read that. This email just says 3 nights. Last time there was a fast track to Gold, which was supposed to expire on December 31st, mine went missing on my July 31st renewal. I’m staying two nights right now, and have another single night bookings next month. I will wait and see what happens.

“Dear (name)

You're invited to fast track to ALL - Accor Live Limitless Gold status and enjoy a world of exclusive benefits:
  • Complimentary room upgrades at the time of check-in
  • Early check-in or late check-out

Simply register, then book and stay 3 nights (usually 30 nights) at over 1,200 Asia Pacific Accor properties before 31 December 2024 to unlock your status upgrade.

Plus, you'll earn 3 Qantas Points per $1 spent, in addition to ALL Reward points.”

Could I please have the screenshots of the promo with below details. Accor asked me for those info which I have deleted

Could you please provide us with the:

Quick one, for those in the know - I have 3 SNUs applied to a forthcoming, flexible booking in Asia, and the flex rate for the room has just dropped by some margin for my dates, so I'd like to re-book it. Does anyone know how quickly my SNUs would be restored after cancelling a booking? I'd need to use them on the replacement booking, so would have to break the cardinal rule of cancelling before the new booking is made!

Cheers,
Matt.

I'm pretty sure when I cancelled mine it happened almost immediately

OK, thanks - going to give it a shot! 🤞

UPDATE: OK - so it wasn't quite instant... but about 15-20 mins and then they reappeared. Barely enough time for me to start sweating on having lost my original booking AND my new found lower rate :D

Cheers,
Matt.

The offer was attached to my previous post. As the offer has expired, the link no longer works. Name of offer is on the email from Qantas. There isn’t a code as it was a link. Once I linked the offer, I received an email from Accor advising “stay one night and receive 20 nights”, but that is the norm for Accor ALL Silver members. I am currently staying in an Accor property for two nights that were not planned, so I will end up Gold anyway by staying the required 10 nights on top of the gifted 20.

Hope this email will help you. This is not the first time a Qantas offer seems unknown to many Accor employees. Last offer, my gold status still expired in my anniversary month of July instead of December that year!

Thank you. Now it's a waiting game as I just got Silver, not Gold after 3 nights

Is it worth getting Accor Plus for the 20 free nights to achieve Platinum status? I'm currently at 33 nights, with seven more nights booked for work trips, it would bring me to Platinum. For those who have reached Platinum, do you find the additional benefits worthwhile?"

Platinum is the sweet spot and well worth it if you stay often.

It's the level where you get lounge access (worldwide) and breakfast (in AP), so yes. (if you value those things)

Platinum is a big step up from gold. However, it would depend on the hotels you stay at and how you value benefits. If you're typically staying at hotels with ELs, then that's a petty good benefit. Free breakfast can be too. Do the maths and see if it adds up as everyone is different.

Anyone else notice the Accor app has started showing AU hotel prices ex-GST until you get to the room selection page? Hotel will show as having $180 rooms but cheapest is $200 once it's time to pick your room type. Is this is a bug or just the new normal.

Noticed something odd yesterday. I just couldn’t get a red hot room price rate that matched what appeared in the initial search result. It’s not consistent across hotels brands. My small sample size showed Sofitel Darling Harbour with exclusive rates, but the Novotel was inclusive. Error only on search results, not when selecting room rates from hotel page.

Won't stick around for long

If you display or advertise prices, always include the total price. The total price must include all charges, taxes, duties, levies or fees (such as goods and services tax or airport tax). It doesn’t need to include optional charges such as delivery fees.

It's been like that for a couple of weeks. Probably because nobody has complained to ACCC yet.

I noticed it when trying to book a hotel in CNS.

Emailed the property direct and was told it’s “a known bug in the Accor app”.

The website wasn’t having the same issue, but was therefore showing a higher price.

In the same email I pointed out the equivelant room was ~$30 per night cheaper when booked via Qantas hotels than the Accor website rate.

The hotel pointed out the QF rate also jumped substantially when clicking the “book now” button.

Seems Accor isn’t alone with spurious pricing at present.
