Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Thanks, that does seem a bit risky, might need to wait until next year to try and shift my membership renewal until later.
Yes - that's likely what I'd do, unless it could be confirmed through Accor or others who have gone before you assuring that it's only a problem when you go to check in, and not before

One related point I should note is it is up for debate how much these Accor points are actually worth. I know some will quote Accor's official marketing material that states that you can convert 2000 Accor points for 40 Euros off a hotel but that is one of only a couple of ways you can use Accor points, some of which may be more lucrative than the stated value. Aside from transferring to frequent flyer programs (which I know probably isn't as lucrative as using the points directly at a hotel) there is also Accor Limitless Experiences which include tickets to shows and occasionally excellent packages on multi-night stays at Accor properties.

Just got tickets to 2024 AFL Grand Final through Accor Limitless Experiences for 15,000 Accor Points a ticket........ so definitely some very good reasons to keep your Accor points with Accor.

They seem to be doing a bid:

I can hardly believe how quickly Accor replied to my email. (Read and learn, Qantas!) Much appreciated. Not just answered; the stay has already been applied, too.

Would anyone have any spare Accor Plus Member for a Day certificates they won't use, and would be willing to give away? (esp if your subscription renews or expires this month)

I'm looking for three certs for a large group dinner in a few weeks, but will take whatever I can get 🙏 thanks!

Yes. My year ends in two days time. PM me and let me know what I need to do. Never actually made use of them to be honest. I assume they can action this in time or will it rollover to my new year? Heck, I don't even know how many certs I get a year?!

Haven't used any of my member for a day if you need them and my A+ also expires in a couple of days.

Thank you both so much for the offer!

For the AFF hivemind, certs can be requested from Accor Plus member services over the phone, or this form can be filled using dropdown My Benefits > I would like to give a Member for a Day certificate.

All A+ members are entitled to three certs per membership year, the real benefit is that you can stack multiple A+ memberships & certs for dining discount for a large group in Aus/NZ/Fiji.

Bit more info here: https://help.accorplus.com/hc/en-au...w-do-I-request-a-Member-for-a-Day-certificate

The certs are then provided as PDFs that look like this and should be printed and presented.

I'll send you both a PM with some personal info for the certs.

Thanks!

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I've noticed that both Atelier at Sofitel Darling Harbour and Dixson & Sons have excluded a number of a la carte menu items from discounts. Unfortunately for Dixson & Sons I feel like those were the only dishes I would have returned for anyway.

Does anyone know if Dixson & Sons are still doing this?

Their online menu only shows exceptions for the tasting menus, but the URL suggests it's from November 2023. The a la carte section makes no mention of restrictions.

Also thank you to the many members who've PMed me offering Member for a Day certs! I am hopefully now sorted :)

@sudoer what expiry period is usually applied to the certificates when issued?

Terms say 30 days, is that your experience?

I'm also seeking an M4D, but for early October, so it's too soon if the 30 days is strictly applied.

Here's an interesting bit of info. Submitted the form this morning to request the certificates for @sudoer. Lady just called to see if I was using them up before expiry (end of the month for me) or genuinely needed them. She said if it was the former, she could extend them. So useful thing to keep in mind for anyone with expiring certificates.

So if I understand this correctly you can give member for a day to someone and if you have 4 people for dinner you all get 50% off - is that right?

In Australia, NZ and Fiji yes. The 50% discount is on food only. Drinks are full price.
