Advice on champagne

Oh dear, I hope I haven't misled anyone. I'd recommend a tasting before y'all go on a pre-apocalyptic stock up! Champagne is highly, highly personal so whilst I may absolutely love this champagne, you may find that you reach a very different conclusion. For instance I think Mumm NV is nasty stuff but the OH likes it. Then again he doesn't like Billecart Salmon. :/

FWIW this champagne is predominantly chardonnay driven (can't find any more info which describes the composition so you'll have to take my word for it) so it won't suit you if you like a heavier pinot noir style for instance.

Well I was after a single bottle but given the apparent scarcity half a dozen is looking good.

But I will blame you if it's rubbish. ;)

+1 on the Mumm.

Bottle chilling in the swamp fridge right now and will be tasted this evening :D
(after all I am on vacation you know  )

Just picked up a couple of bottles at DM GC.
It's in the Kuhlschrank & look forward to sampling it tonight as well. :D

With this apparent surge in demand, keeping my fingers crossed that it'll become a permanent offering at DM's rather than just the one-off batch. :) Can't find this at any of the usual boutique champagne/wine outfits...

Perhaps y'all should at least wait till Princess Fiona and/or Cruiser Elite report back on their own taste tests to get a more rounded overview! Personally I'll drink this over a lot of the better known options in the $40-80 mark any day, all things being equal.

Not long now :)
I'm actually pretty easily pleased when it comes to bubbles (no Moët, no Mumm, no Lanson, definitely no Deutz). Like Billecart-Salmon, Taittinger and Perrier-Jouët. And then a lot of the fancy stuff that my accountant disapproves of ;)

Champagne anyone...? Pol Roger...? Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque Vintage perhaps...?

I hate you :P
The PJ BE is my *favourite* Champers. I've not seen it that cheap here ever (mind you, it's still a lot less in the USA).

*edit* It's back to $209, my credit card is safe :P

Verdict in - indeed it's a bit light for my taste - Cruiserette very impressed with it - suggested I head out tonight to Dans to secure a doz - seems we differ slightly on that concept - of course as with ALL wines personal taste is personal taste - thanks again Keith for making the effort in posting.
